I thought Cloverfield was pretty good because it left the monster out of the picture for the longest time, and when it did show it, it was more like a panicked feral beast than anything else. So it made sense. But if it's just more supersize fight sequences with men in costumes I think I'd rather watch old kung fu movies instead.

i think this looks great =)

 

the director of this "Gareth Edwards" was at the fantasy film festival in hamburg a couple of years back with his movie "monsters" (which i liked alot)

He did a QandA afterwards where he reveled that he made all the special effects himself on his laptop with 3dstudio max which impressed the hell out of me.

than he talked about the total budget of the movie even though he didnt know what it was exactly he said it was: "less than what most if not all of you have on your bank accounts right now". which really inspired me to try and make a el_mariachi style super low budget feature film myself one day. i got to talk to him for a short while after the show and he was just the sweetest guy ever ... i guess where i am heading with this is I REALLY hope this thing will jump start an epic career for him i cant think of anyone more deserving!
