Mazy Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 Damn man, that's absolutely devastating reading, incredibly happy that you're in recovery now, though like you said, you're probably scarred for life by this. I had no idea that things had been this bad. And again, thank for sharing this, infinite respect for you bro~~ Puddy 1 Quote
Puddy Posted January 15, 2014 Author Report Posted January 15, 2014 Thanks for reading and the support, fellas! Mazy: I had no idea things could get this bad. Before this, I didn't really know what prolonged pain, sleep deprivation etc can do to you. Just being pushed down and down and finding your lowest low. Ultimately, life is about contrast and even though this experience was shit from start to finish, it provided some perspective and insight. During rehab I met a few cancer patients and people who have undergone worse heart stuff. You can sort of get a good idea of the things they are going through, and if someone close to me is ever in a similar and dire situation, I have some grasp of their needs and worries and how I can be of help. So yeah, there's that at least. Mazy 1 Quote
Nerve Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) I know I'm new around these parts but damn, you're a manly man Puds. I can't imagine going through that, yet you've come out of the other side stronger. I'm glad you're doing well man, I have a lot of respect for you and I hope your recovery goes smoothly. tomm Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) I wanna thank you for 'good' read, I've been going through some shit lately(not even close to what you've experienced) and it just kicked me in my balls, great eye-opener for me. Much respect. Edited January 15, 2014 by tomm Quote
PogoP Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 TIL that people have a heart sack. Gone through all that and you've released a CSGO map that was made semi-official, and hopefully another on the way, you're one badass son of a gun. Quote
Puddy Posted January 15, 2014 Author Report Posted January 15, 2014 TIL that people have a heart sack. I actually looked it up since this sounded stupid. It's called pericardium in English, heh. Direct translation from Swedish is heart sac! Also, another reminder is that I'm doing pretty fine atm! This was a few months back but I hadn't really shared this before... Nerve 1 Quote
PogoP Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 I'd quite like to hear a Part 4 actually, maybe in a couple months time ⌐■_■ 1 Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Quite happy you are still here with us to write this Puddy, which is a pretty comforting feeling i would say. I have been through some shit in my life like everyone, which weren't medical problems, but nothing like having a glance at the bottom of the pit as you did (or at least not for me). Much respect man, you can really be proud of yourself, don't loose that positive energy you have ! I guess that this paralysing uncertainty over life and death is really hard to endure, as if the sickness was imprisoning yourself in your own body. But now that you know you will live for good, quickly take back the control of your life dude If any worse, i think you live in the good century for heart conditions, i've saw there's this in france lately : http://rt.com/news/france-artificial-heart-transplant-662/ And i'd love to hear a part 4 too! ( although i would rather not having to read your adventure at all in the first place ) Happy recovery, all the best to you and your family ! Puddy 1 Quote
FrieChamp Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Oh boy...heavy stuff. So glad everything worked out for you in the end! What did they do in that surgery that caused you to recover? Don't answer, if that's too personal. Just curious Get well soon! Quote

What did they do in that surgery that caused you to recover? Don't answer, if that's too personal. Just curious Get well soon! They opened up the heart and cleared out the excess liquids that had been built up. They then did an electrical conversion to take care of the pulse issues (that's when they intentionally stop the heart and then "jolt it" back up again). Quote

Steppenwolf Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Glad it turned out ok for you in the end. You're a trooper! Don't think i could have handled this. I used to suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. Everything with the heart and high pulse rate scares the living crap out of me. Quote
General Vivi Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Part 4: Chilled with Hurg and GabeN today. We drove in the rain with the top down and threw waffles at people passing by. Life is good. e-freak, selmitto, Nerve and 2 others 5 Quote
