hi,
how are you me dear,
i am working 2 years modeling and little environment artisting and level designing.

i want to start to work on creating level an environments for games.how to?

for example i want to create interior scene and exterior scene for games.
for interior example in this concept:(call of duty concept)

where do i start on working on this scene?
these quastions are my struggle:

1-should i create all of scene in 3dsmax/maya and texturing on and in the last import in game engine?(how to uving and texturing this large scene in max/maya?)

2-should i create piece piece in max/maya and texturing piece piece and in the last import in game engine?

3-how to Observance scale in max/maya and game engines?

4-for example for this scene my time is large or low?(how to many days?)

 

5-for creating floors,walls,roofs,should i create modular assets in max/maya and import in engine or Integrated?

I am not an artist, so you might need to do a bit more research to make sure I am not giving you bad information. But from what I have learned about art:

 

Use a game engine - it will be of more value on your portfolio - UDK or the CryEngine produce the best visuals at the moment.

 

Depending on what toolset you use, there is a lot of information about scale out there that should make things clearer.

 

Modularity should be used whenever possible to show effective workflow - so the floors and walls if possible should be modular.
