FrieChamp Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 Ah I was waiting for somebody to make a new game in the vein of Dungeon Keeper. May the demons of the underworld be with them! -HP- and Sprony 2 Quote
Skacky Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 I backed 35£ in that game. The fact that it's being made by hardcore fans of DK1 is great, they even have Richard Ridings on board. Sprony 1 Quote
Jenn0_Bing Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 I am looking forward to it, and I've backed it. But it worries me that it currently looks worse to me than DKII at the moment, DKII had such a cool cohesive art style that in my eyes has really stood the test of time. All that super-contrasty dynamic light and a rather scatter-shot colour scheme. Not to mention I am not a big fan of those bright glowing red gems on every player owned tile. But if they get the tone and game play down, I might be able to look past those issues just to get another fix of the genre. I'm currently playing DKII through again for the nth time, I never tire of it. Sprony and Vilham 2 Quote
Sprony Posted February 7, 2013 Author Report Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) Well there's also Impire which is coming out next week. So far I'm not impressed by that game and given the developers trackrecord I don't have high expectations. But taste differs so maybe it's of interest to others. More info here: http://www.paradoxpl...om/games/impire I'm with you JB. I'm just glad we finally get something new. I just wonder how much they can look the same without getting into legal problems? Vilham Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 Impire looks pretty shit tbh, not much in common with dungeon keeper at all. Sprony 1 Quote
Kedhrin Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 i'm pretty excited about this, but it does look bad. Quote

Kedhrin Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Anyone try Impire yet? i'm really interested in trying it... but i don't want to be disappointed like i was in Dungeons. Quote
Sprony Posted February 17, 2013 Author Report Posted February 17, 2013 Strangely enough, there are almost no reviews of Impire. I'm waiting for the new Gameplay magazine to see what they have to say about it. Quote
Sprony Posted February 20, 2013 Author Report Posted February 20, 2013 Apparently, you are very limited in how you build your dungeon. That's a deal breaker for me. Quote
Vilham Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 Like I said, shit. The initial video TB did months ago pretty much gave you the same insight. Sprony 1 Quote

Rick_D Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 I bought Impire based on the first 40 minutes of gameplay. It's really enjoyable, well worth 20 buckaroos! Quote
