syver Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a role-playing game developed and published by Level-5 in collaboration with world-famous animation company Studio Ghibli. The game puts the player in the role of Oliver, a 13 year old boy who, after his mother's death, is transported to a parallel world, and goes on a quest to bring her back to life. Everything I've seen and heard since then have just added to that. It's coming 22 january to US and 1 february to EU. I can't wait!!! it's also for nintendo ds if you're into that shit. PogoP Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 I remember seeing this early last year, it looks incredible. It's a shame I don't have a PS3 though, I really want to play it! Quote
Kedhrin Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) some of the cell shaded games on ps3 looked fantastic like eternal sonota... too bad the game was sooo fairy-like i couldn't sit through it no matter how good the art was... and the gameplay got super repetitive... waaaaayyy too JRPG. this definitely looks like a traditional JRPG.... but hopefully the pacing is good Edited January 15, 2013 by Kedhrin Quote

Minos Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 By the way, the demo has been out on the PSN store for a while now. I tried it but couldn't understand shit of the battle system. Not surprised though, all JRPG demos are like that XD -HP- 1 Quote

Nysuatro Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 This looks great. Big fan of Studio Ghibli. The English ruins it a bit for me though. I English subtitels and the original voices. Quote
Minos Posted March 7, 2013 Report Posted March 7, 2013 Been playing this for the past 2 or 3 weeks and it is shaping up to be one of the best games I have played in a long time! Since I was playing Rogue Galaxy before starting this I kinda knew what to expect and I'm glad they fixed a lot of annoyances in Ni No Kuni (like super messy inventory, soul crushing crafting system etc...). The battle system actually works pretty well (I didn't have the best impression when I played the demo) and leveling/acquiring familiars is fun (except for their level being reset to 1 when they evolve :S) Anyway, pretty good JRPG with lots to do and no convoluted menus/storyline (like FF XIII-2) so you can actually focus on making progress instead of figuring out where to go. -HP- 1 Quote
