For the third year in a row the Norwegian Film Institute held their annual Norwegian Championship in game play competition and the company I work for participated.

The theme for the competition was announced 10am on december the 27th and you had to show your prototype on saturday january 5th. Due to christmas break and new years eve there was really only 3-4 days available for us to work, but I guess you can count all the days since we spent the holidays contemplating and discussing ideas for what we were going to make.

The theme was "Size matters".

Obviously we had a lot of ideas, but after spending some time googling we found that alotof theideas weretaken on the subject. (there so many flash games out there holy crap).

But we eventually ended up with a two player game where one dude is small and the other is big and you can swap the size of the two. They are also attached with a cord.

So heres a small video of the 6 puzzles we managed to get together in the short time frame that the competition lasted. We didnt use any existing assets for this project so its all made from scratch (we used unity).

Thanks. Was a really cool challenge. And I feel we did almost everything right from the start. From how much time we spent on design, code, gray boxing, design and then finally polishing it with graphics and adding sounds.

Cincinnati: We're not really sure, but I guess its a air hose (if that makes sense).

If a door closes and the hose gets cut then the two aliens deflate while flying around like balloons running out of air :) (and you die and respawn)

We're looking at putting it on ouya I think, but as the prototype was just made in 4-5 days it is really rough in places. Especially the animation and sounds as you mention kokos. I was actually the one who put in most of the sounds on friday (saturday was the contest) and I spent like 4-5 hours on it only... (no time left, and I was so damn tired)
