Pre-Mapcore...CS_Maps

Anyone here remember CS_Maps, pre-mapcore times? With Zaphod, gitbgff, and I went by firestorm. Wow, times have changed, I disappeared once college started but since HL2 came out I'm thinking of breaking the 2-3yr holiday and get back to mapping. Zaphod, if you read this congrats on getting a mapping job, just discovered this site recently, good to hear. Well I'm out, just wanted to say hey to the old crew if your still out there..

Holy crap, i didnt know anyone else knew gitbgff. Him and I were really good friends back in the day. We worked on a map together, talked to each other via net meetings while doing so. Wow, that was long ago.

DiePepsi was a great mapper back then too, I wonder what happened to him.

btw could we not make this another "remember the good old days" thread? we've all heard about the infamous fights you fags got into so we know that it was just as bad now as it was then.

You see duffy, before mapcore we didnt really fight though. We all had our problems with each other at times, but it wasn't until we started working together that there were feuds. But back in the day, it was about mapping because we enjoyed it and it had nothing to do with us getting official maps or anything because cliffe was a dick back then to us, or so we believed.

no one really hates anyone now...so in that sense nothing changed.....except for the fact that now everyone at a game design company (or most) act like cliffe and the new generation is coming to kick your ass

sadly i belong to no generation, since the only map i made crashed horribly
