Thrik Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Dizzy Returns by The Oliver Twins In all honesty I'm probably too old for this now, but damn I used to love the Dizzy games as a kid. Some of my earliest gaming memories on the Atari ST. Shieeeeet, good times. Quote
knj Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 (edited) Man i would play Dizzy even while grandpa-old, think about it, get high as shit and play this game !! concepts looks great, good as Rayman Origins good ! Edited November 23, 2012 by knj Thrik 1 Quote
insta Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Why haven’t you gone to a publisher for funding? We have! Over the years we've pitched ideas for a new Dizzy game many times, but it's been hard to convince publishers to bring back a classic a talking egg when they've got lots of new ideas not talking eggs to put their money behind. Erratic Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Man, I'd play the NES game for hours as a kid without a fucking clue as to what I was doing. I remember being in awe every time I found a new area I hadn't seen before. Thrik 1 Quote
Beck Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 I played the one on the Mega Drive quite a bit. I was also too young to really understand what I was doing but I figured some bits out Love the music and the locations in it though. Keeping my eye out for this Quote

Kedhrin Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Hmmmmm, never played it... but i never had an atari/amiga/commodore etc. I did have a Vic-20 tho Quote
Sentura Posted November 24, 2012 Report Posted November 24, 2012 £350,000... seems like an awful lot for a game like this... Quote
Thrik Posted November 24, 2012 Author Report Posted November 24, 2012 Seems pretty low to me. If the production values will live up to the concepts anyway. Quote
Taylor Posted November 24, 2012 Report Posted November 24, 2012 (edited) The return of Dizzy would be cool. I remember playing Treasure Island and Magicland quite a lot when I was younger. I also went back to the latter recently, fell in the moat a thousand times, and wanted to put my hand through the screen. Good times. I hope this new version has an upside down Ice Palace that gives people nightmares. Honestly, it does sound doable for less. Though, and call me cynical here, if you’ve got the necessarily fanbase your Kickstarter goal is less about what you need and more what you can get. Edited November 24, 2012 by Taylor ⌐■_■ 1 Quote
Sentura Posted November 24, 2012 Report Posted November 24, 2012 Seems pretty low to me. If the production values will live up to the concepts anyway. they're requesting more funds than inexile did for wasteland 2 and obsidian did for project eternity. it's not just that it's too much, it's also that it's very unlikely so many people want this funded. Gridlock Posted November 24, 2012 Report Posted November 24, 2012 Not sure if you guys know but there's another Dizzy-style game on Kickstarter that's been on there for 3 weeks and nearing it's end. http://www.kickstart...442/spuds-quest Quote
