Zarsky Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 A small UK-based studio is creating a open world RPG game with some pretty impressive tech. Judge for yourself: Kickstarter pitch video contains a lot of information: Is the quality of animations likely to improve? Yes. All the base animations were made by Madoc while he was developing the system behind them. We now have some very user friendly tools for animation design and getting an animator onboard is at the top of our list of priorities. We would also like to improve the quality of dynamic behaviours. Their Kickstarter-page: http://www.kickstart...863/sui-generis Quote
madgernader Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 Saw this, and I think it looks tight. The goal feels like it might be a stretch when using only the engine tech as the real shown material, but that said, the tech behind it looks fantastic. Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 I saw that video and it was amazing, except the gangster look of that guy resuming it Quote
Sentura Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 with so many kickstarters coming up it seems that everyone pretty much wants to make the same games... Quote
Mazy Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 Aye saw it the other day, looks cool and promising, apart from the character looking like he's drunk Quote
Rick_D Posted November 11, 2012 Report Posted November 11, 2012 just about to comment on that, looks like fucking drunks staggering around at 3am Sprony 1 Quote
Zarsky Posted December 11, 2013 Author Report Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) Still remember this drunk running game? Found some new footage showing some of the basic mechanics of the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuOzmyED5qA Still shows a lot of potential, as long as they can deliver on the content side. Here's another clip showing slightly improved walking cycle and some combat mechanics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K1DtyGAuB0 Edited December 11, 2013 by Zarsky Quote
Taylor Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Everything looks impressive, but also like it's going to be unresponsive and frustrating to play? Could be wrong. Quote
PogoP Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 That combat system looks like it could be really quite unique. I'm interested in this. Gotta say though, the art is really quite generic. It's a shame, it has so much potential! Nice editor features though Quote
Em' Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Yeah I agree to taylor, i see what they want to do (an oldschool rpg iso like) but with realistic features, but imo they would have gain to use a gameplay that fit and enlight the main feature : blending moves and combat. When i was watching that vid, i tried to zoom in to have a better vision on that character moves. IMO This would have been really better with a gameplay like "Mount and Blade" or "War of the vikings", in TPS camera using your mouse to swing your sword. I must admit that i love games where characters have a real life feeling using dynamic and generated animations, like in GTAs with endorphin... Such a great program that should be in every game § Quote
