Silent Hill revelation

Just saw this for the first time yesterday, and looks sweet, based on Silent Hill 3 so it looks, i really liked the first movie (not the best, but one of good game based movies) can't wait to see this !

Still don't look at the trailer because i will saw it anyway. But I'm prepared to be disappointed like the first film. I mean, good visual, it's better than a resident evil film but still, the first film was unnecessary gore...

Also, SH3 was the sequel of the 1 but the film's scenario was différent. I wonder how they toke this one to be connected to both film and game.

I am really looking forward to this. I think the first movie was a decent adaptation to the game. Obviously they combined elements from multiple games to make it more interesting ( Pyramid head for example).

Seen it, it's fucking terrible... seriously.

Horrible script, zero character depth, piss poor acting except for the lead (she does her best, despite the mess she has to work with) and hardly any real plot. Two of the main characters from SH3's original storyline are barely even it and one them dies right at the start of the film. Bullshit jump scares that would be right at home in Paranormal Activity and face palm-cliche dialogue ("Go to Hell" "Too late, I'm already there" ...for FUCK'S sake...

The first film is an oscar winner compared to this shite, save your money.

Point being though that the first one was really good, not perfect but certainly one of the most important actual horror films of the last 10 years. That's a credit to director Christopher Gans and the original Silent Hill writers!

Really...? Not that I'm belittling your opinion, but my memory of Silent Hill was that most people I knew found it average at best and it received negative to mixed reviews across the board. Better than most video game movies perhaps, but that's not saying much considering the near-universal shittiness of them.

I haven't seen either so for all I know I could enjoy both, but it seems to me like both fit in the 'average' category and so you're liable to enjoy or hate it depending on your film preferences.

yeah, D3ads, I'm a complete horror slut myself and I can't honestly recall Silent Hill as being all that great. sure, it's an okay movie and maybe one of the best movies out there that's actually based on a game but it's far from ''...one of the most important actual horror films of the last 10 years.'' as you stated. that's completely ridiculous.

Heard a review on the radio this week and the reviewer, someone who actually loves horror and sci-fi films, absolutely agreed with you on this. Too bad cause all the Silent Hill fans out there deserve better.
