Zyn Posted June 6, 2013 Report Posted June 6, 2013 for those who thought wearing oculus rift made you look silly... http://www.kickstart...r-favorite-game I can already imagine large people posting videos of themselves using this, with their bodies tightly wedged into the ring. Beck Posted June 16, 2013 Report Posted June 16, 2013 One of the guys at work doesn't like roller coasters. So naturally we put him on one in the rift... That's his genuine reaction. Before this he took it off before it reached the top because he couldn't handle it. Chimeray, Seldoon182, Z3LCIAH and 5 others 8 Quote
Jord Posted June 16, 2013 Report Posted June 16, 2013 Beat me too it. I think it's the single best reaction I've seen on the Oculus. Quote

-HP- Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 I don't know if you guys know epicbattleaxe, but this is a bi-weekly podcast that I follow for around a year now and I love it. On todays ep they have a pretty casual, curious and interesting discussion about the rift, I actually learned that you HAVE to calibrate your your Inter-Pupillary Distance otherwise prepare to spend a good two to three days feeling queasy and sick because it's such a realistic experience for the brain, if it's not calibrated correctly it may make you very sick. Another interesting aspect about is your height, if you're a short guy for instance, in HL2 you're gonna feel like you're 2m tall and that's a very disorienting feeling for your brain as well, ahah. (In the future, all games will most likely ask you to input your own real world height to avoid this issue) http://epicbattleaxe.com/profiles/blogs/the-axe-factor-123 Quote
PogoP Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 I'm fucked then.. The only game I'll be able to play is The Hobbit or something selmitto and Beck 2 Quote
dux Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 And if you're too tall you won't be able to crouch to fit into vents! Sentura, blackdog, selmitto and 1 other 4 Quote
Sentura Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 Freeman is only 1.8m tho (72 inches). Even though it might be something that takes getting used to, I'm sure once you're used to it's no problem. Kind of like switching mouse sensitivity Quote
mjens Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 I've tested HL2 on rift yesterday and my whole day was fucked, I was feeling sick for a looong time :/ I've also tried Quake 1, some roller coaster demos and the SDK demo - cool stuff but I need to get used to it. I'll try to calibrate this as Helder said but how to calibrate it? Quote
Beck Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 I'm fucked then.. The only game I'll be able to play is The Hobbit or something Shotgun Merry or Pippin then! Haha but seriously, I'm not that tall at all and I felt fine in HL2. Strange how you felt so weirded out by it Seir, have you tried other demos? Quote
