Jenn0_Bing Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 Hey, I'm glad to see you're getting a good buzz going around this release, well deserved. I'm looking forward to having a palythrough to enjoy all the polish since my test. Quote
Puddy Posted October 30, 2012 Author Report Posted October 30, 2012 Oh and if you guys play, keep your eyes VERY open on part 4. There's something very mapcorian about it. Quote
Algor Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 Congrats on the release. I think I last completed part 3 but it feels well done so far! How did you go about the dialogue? Was that content that existed but was not used in Portal 2? Quote
Puddy Posted October 31, 2012 Author Report Posted October 31, 2012 All the dialogue is really from the boss fight at the end of Portal 2. Rick is one of the corrupted cores there. But you basically never hear all his lines or pay enough attention to really hear how awesome he is. Quote
Puddy Posted November 4, 2012 Author Report Posted November 4, 2012 So this has been out a bit more than a week now! Thought I'd report how things have been going! As you guys made me aware of, dfd has received some media notice! Here's a media summary of the articles I could find: http://www.rockpaper...ned-for-danger/ http://www.kotaku.co...ight-new-levels (broken link right now though!) http://www.fz.se/art...-portal-2-banor (swedish) http://www.gametrail...icial-expansion http://www.vg247.com...nger-trailered/ When it comes to the workshop, DFD has found a nice spot just below 12 angry tests on the top rated of all time list. That means it's on 7-12th place! We'll see if it'll ever overtake some of the 12 angry test maps. DFD has only been out for a week (as opposed to six months in 12 angry test's case), so right now it's a bit hard to compete. I'm quite pleased with my place though tbh. Currently, there are, on average, 12000~ downloads ("subscribers" to be correct) per map on the workshop. The ordinary download mirrors only have 1700 downloads combined. To summarize: the workshop is the shizzle according to the players. Here's sneaky hurg btw: Soon I'll get to work on fixing all the minor bugs, glitches, exploits that players have reported. I'll probably do another art pass at some point as well. We'll see. e-freak 1 Quote
e-freak Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 rocking it like a boss congrats man! well deserved. Quote
-HP- Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 Congrats dude, very well deserved! I now have a PC at home, will try to rock this later this week, but it looks mint! Quote
Puddy Posted December 1, 2012 Author Report Posted December 1, 2012 I've released a minor patch recently, let me know if you encountered any bugs or so during your playthrough! Number of players have landed around 20k now and is increasing at a really slow rate. Pretty happy with that though. Quote
Vilham Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 Man 20k for a single player custom map is great. Quote
Puddy Posted June 25, 2014 Author Report Posted June 25, 2014 Man 20k for a single player custom map is great. Yeah, I was pretty pleased with that. Until... ... 100k!!! (total unique players) Only took 1,5 years. So. Yeah. Take that Steam Workshop. Sprony, Vilham, Pampers and 4 others 7 Quote
Puddy Posted February 9, 2015 Author Report Posted February 9, 2015 Yesterday, as I was about to go to bed, a comment was posted on map 5 of this collection. "smosh play this :DDDD". At first, I was baffled. What did it mean? Then, I remembered seeing one of those "Honest Game Trailers" and that "Smosh Games" is the youtube entertainment television channel thing that made those! I searched their videos for "Portal 2" and alas, I found a video with quiiiite a lot of views that I had absolutely no idea about until now. So, I give you, a bunch of loud and obnoxious youtube personalities duking it out on map 5 of the collection. The last one to finish it get's cake'd! leplubodeslapin, Pampers, Squad and 1 other 4 Quote
Radix Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 (edited) It's pretty confusing to see that nowadays people prefer to watch others playing (even if those can't play at all) instead of playing themselves... Well, there are probably more youtube videos of my "Gelocity" maps (Portal 2) than there are players who have actually downloaded the maps... lol Edited February 9, 2015 by Raidix Quote
leplubodeslapin Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 I just made the campain and then saw the video. I wasted 10 mins watching a group of 6 idiots trying to be funny, while hearing a "BEEEEEEEEEEP" sound all the time. Nevertheless, the campain was really great, i loved it and it goes crazy the way i love it (with huge rooms and long jumps to do ). Congratulations, 3 years late sry :x Puddy and Vaya 2 Quote
