FMPONE Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 (edited) Hey all, So seeing Moroes and 3DNJ's work on the Siege remake inspired me to do some cs mapping of my own. Here's a few shots from my new project, a small-ish map set in a Museum, in a bustling city not unlike NYC. I'm planning some really fun stuff for the museum interior. I'm also looking for some help from any talented 2d or 3d artists, let me know if it piques your interest. Edited October 22, 2012 by FMPONE mjens, FrieChamp, ChA1NsAw and 1 other 4 Quote

Minos Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Looks pretty cool but a bit too similar to moroes/3dnj`s map? Maybe try a different lighting? Nice start anyway Quote
-HP- Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Gotta say this does look pretty amazing, although like it has been said, the lighting lacks it's own identity, which goes along way and really helps your level stand out above the rest, individually the assets come together very very well, but as a whole it feels it still lacks some further work. One thing you could do, if you dont know how to progress or fix that problem, grab a piece of concept art you like, with very moody colors and lighting and try to mimic it's feeling in the engine. FMPONE Posted October 22, 2012 Author Report Posted October 22, 2012 (edited) The fact that it takes me an hour compile to get something in-game isn't helping my lighting efforts much haha. Still have a lot to learn about Source lighting, I've been out of the game for some time now. I'll play with it, I think it's nice but of course it could always be improved. Skybox elements in there would also probably help. Any paintovers or contrast tweaks you guys like will of course be taken into consideration. Edited October 22, 2012 by FMPONE Quote
-HP- Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 I could do a paintover but these shots don't tell me which direction you wanna go with it, so before pointing anyone where you're going, you're gonna have to figure it out first, does that makes sense? ahah But again, this does look great man, keep up pulleeze! FMPONE Posted October 22, 2012 Author Report Posted October 22, 2012 Happy, bright, "I could play this a million times" exterior, opulent, solid gold interior is my goal, since it's going to be relatively deathmatchy. OK -- back to work Quote
