Hello everyone, Ive been working on this map for a bit of time now and have gotten it to a state where I like it. I would like to get some feedback on it to make it better. Im currently working on a short little camera fly through of the level and when that's done ill post it up here as it might help with some feedback and discussion. And if anyone wants to take a look at the map from inside the editor or run around in it I can upload it too. Thanks!

Well I got the camera fly through all completed. However it is not up to my quality to present it. Unfortunately my computer cannot handle running the game and recording at the same time, so it becomes a bit choppy. So im gonna have to see if I can get it recorded through some other way, through a friend or something.

yeah I second the lighting needing more contrast, if it's that overcast you can get away with using street lights/lamps/fires. Treat it almost as a night map or you run of the risk of a flat visual mess that struggles to lead the eye anywhere.

I would perhaps lighten the floor materials too. use some paving or light gravel, problem with dark floors is that's where the player identifies as traversable space, of course it's all relative to everything else but it can help.

Thanks for all the replies and feedback so far! Did some more work to it with everyone's input in consideration. I still have much more of the map to go through but here are some screenshots of the areas i changed a bit. I'm trying to avoid the simple barrel of fire with the busted up side of the map. So for one area I have power lines creating sparks as the main light source, other areas still have to be determined. I also changed lots of the broken pillars that looked way out of place and didn't belong. Not sure what I was thinking when i put them there originally. I also changed materials on the busted sides walls (near the center section), I think this helped a bit with removing the out of place pillars. And the last thing, I changed some of the floor materials as recommended, but none of them are final yet because I'm not sure which ones I feel fit the areas yet.

Another update, recently I decided to change the architecture of the bridge. The old bridge just didnt feel right to me, and their wouldnt be enough cover for players in that area. So I went through some of the other gears of war maps in the game to reference how they did their bridges and what assets they used. I also continued to work on the contrast of the lighting. With that I ran into an area under each of the main towers that I needed to change. The area under each tower is now a bit more opened up, and players should not get caught up on pillars or walls as easily. Still a ton more lighting work to be done! Any thoughts or feedback is always welcome, thanks!

Did some more work with the lighting and added some light sources as well. The lighting and a quick couple things on the bridge then im done with this map and onto another udk project. Any last bit of feedback on anything let me know! Thanks!

Back from the dead, briefly.

Recently got done with a little camera fly through. Added a couple extra little things to make it more then just an ordinary camera fly through. Any bit of feedback is as always appreciated.
