Anyway, kidding aside, it's easy to hate on the guy, but he knows the industry and the market, and he knows what sells and what doesn't and he's actually a great game designer.

And say what you want, but he deserves a lot of merit for Gears of War.

But hey, Molyneaux left to make a new company, if Cliff is not interested in other businesses I'm expecting him to make a new company of his own, maybe with the guys that left People Can Fly, in a couple of years... but i'd bet he's not going to follow the path of the designer behind Katamari

I remember reading an interview on "the most promising game designers" so many years ago, he was there and hinting about GoW even before Unreal 2 was out and the first techdemo of UE3 was shown.

And yeah, like people said, even if you don't like him as a person, then he's a great game designer. Definitely one of the people that has had, for better or worse, the largest impact on the industry the last 10 years.
