Gwee Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 Hi everyone I'm here with my first completed level. It's a small TDM map intended for about 6-10 players, 3-5 on each team. This level took two weeks to complete, while referencing Alex's 11 day tutorials. The name of the map is called DM_Chambord, and is inspired by Chateau Chambord in France. I have a list of my own dislikes, likes, and what I was going for, but before I post them I'd like to get some feedback first. I want to share the level, but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to go about it? I don't own UT3, just UDK. Do I have the share the .udk file of my level? If anyone would like to open up the map in UDK, and look at how I built the map and tell me where I could've improved, what I could've done instead of what it was I did in certain spots, I would also greatly appreciate that as well. I'm sure there's a ton of areas I could've improved on in terms of how I went about them (once again I'll actually post them once I get the feedback as I don't want people *looking* for problems in things I don't like) I really am proud of how it turned out at the very least in terms of looks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MthhsoczE7w I used fraps to pan around, but I absolutely hated doing it this way. Is there a better way to showcase with video without having to use recording methods such as this? Basically, I want an effective but the most simple method possible Screenshots: http://i.imgur.com/d6FMz.jpg http://i.imgur.com/5oDGZ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/076U7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kAyX1.jpg http://i.imgur.com/QFZ1V.jpg http://i.imgur.com/jK6DR.jpg Final note: no assets were made by me and everything used was packaged with UDK Quote
Psy Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 My prevailing thought is that the exterior spaces are very plain as they are open spaces with zero cover. That is not going to be fun to fight in! Quote
2d-chris Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 reminds me of guild halls in everquest 2 Yeh, exteriors need something, a garden I would suppose Quote
