FrieChamp Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 EA is now the antihero of the games industry: http://www.ea.com/news/eamaxis-sue-zyng ... fringement Quote
Thrik Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 Well, that's probably about it for Zynga now — their stock values have been free falling for some time now, so I doubt they have the energy or resources to seriously contest EA here. But it's very much deserved as the company seems to have a corporate culture of it being totally fine to rip anyone and everyone off. Quote
sarge mat Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 Don't think many people will cry over Zynga, didn't do them selves many favors in most eyes. Quote
Kedhrin Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 lol have you seen the applestore??? the chinese games are SOOOO blatantly ripping off people its terrible! there was one game that had the icon from lego batman, but the game itself was 0% like it! Whats surprising to me is that Apple doesn't police this shit at all. It's really funny and sad the amount of fucked up shit that goes down in the industry. For example... look at this -> itunes.apple.com/us/app/nexuiz/id504121436?mt=12 someone is selling the Classic Nexuiz (Open Source and Free) on iTunes. We cannot do anything to remove it. We even have friends in high positions at apple. it's a sad state this industry has allowed this type of shit to happen. On the other hand, going after it will make 'software patents', etc., an every day reality. Quote

Jord Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 It's insane just how closely copied it is. Time to get the popcorn out for this one. Quote
Thrik Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 Sons of bitches. Zynga just laid off 100+ employees (incl. my friends) in its Austin office during the Apple Event. Gave them 2 hours to vacate. Quote
sarge mat Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 (edited) Its clear they though more about the PR side of things than the actual people. Facebook is also suppose to have posted quite large losses today(money not staff that is), having a hard time finding anything not iPad mini related though. Edited October 23, 2012 by sarge mat Quote
