"Chopper handling has been GREATLY improved. kny you smoke good stuff!"

hmm i was flying most of the time in BF3 and here in beta i can get 40/1 Kill to death ratio - when i'm in a chopper, and scout choppers feels EXACTLY THE SAME man !

So far a slightly negative experience.

- Runs like poop (4.3ghz 8350Fx 16gb ram 560Ti installed on an ssd)

- Doesn't look as good as bf3 - am I imagining this?

You aren't imagining that imho. And it still runs like poop. :(

I love flying choppers and I have to say the attack chopper flies like a dream! I'm still mastering when to pull up after a dive so I get to the perfect height I want to be at but banking around buildings, doing a U-turn on the spot and strafing targets feels bloody amazing! I was flying with my bro and then a friend last night and we racked up loads of kills with me as the pilot doing strafe runs on A then flying up to the top of C and circling the top of the tower taking out entire squads.

I really like the limited ammo too. It stopped us just farming people at the top of the tower and forced us to retreat for a little while which in the end meant we'd just go to another point instead of camping meaning we were probably more helpful to our team.

I prefer the map with the tower still standing. That said, knocking down the tower when one team is dominating the top of it can turn around ownership to the other team and stop one team dominating that point.

Game is fun, even tho it feels a lot more like COD, like a COD on Valium (slower movement as Infantry, lots of camping), and on Speed at the same time (splosions everywhere) but with tanks, helis and half of your team camping on a skyscraper not trying to cap flags with you, but still somehow playable. Besides the sometimes unbearable serverlag and rubberbanding, which makes bullet registration a pain in the ass and the random crashes and freezes, it looks kinda nice, like BF3 with a whole lot more specularity. But it's the servers I guess.

My major complaint is the player collisions, especially at C in Conquest Large, when the tower is gone - janky collisions everywhere, invisible collisions in the middle of pathways. Holy shit, getting stuck on a inches high piece of debris while being shot at by a boat and helicopter is no fun. same with almost all of the walls that get destroyed, hate to get stuck on these tiny remains that don't allow you to walk, run or jump over it, when you stand close to it. That's probably why people are doing these funny jumps all the time. Same with the placement of some small-ass props on the ground, where you need to start jumping for ten minutes to get out. But I guess that's just the price of setting up the destructible stuff the way it's done!

lol sweet. There is one really weird thing about that otherwise amazing skyscraper collapse though: the water doesn't seem to be affected at all. With all the hype about the physics-based water, where's the ripple/waves? Does it happen when you're closer?

I have seen a video where it sends out a decent sized wave when the building collapses but it doesn't seem to happen in-game. Maybe a bug preventing it from being triggered?

BF4 is to BF3 as UT2004 is to UT2003

I preferred 2003 and they should have made onslaught etc an extension. 2004 killed the community imo. More people playing UT99.

Now back to topic. I like the loadout screen and minimap more than BF3. Other than that, I feel nothing much has changed, at least not worth making a complete new game for.

The same could probably be said for Bad Company 2 except the only difference being no one played BC1.

Also I always thought people generally perferred 2004 to 2003. They would be wrong of course but I always thought that was the consensus. Also reading your post again I don't understand the analogy.

Unless more people are stilling playing BF2 than BF3. what the fuck

Played a bit yesterday. The update to the game made the game run sliiightly smoother but it's still very low-fps and a LOT of stuttering.

Feels pretty nice, lots of gameplay tweaks (spawning directly to vehicles, "magazines" on tanks etc). Thought I had a bug at one point that the game only rendered lighting (and not textures). But no, it was just the ash from the fallen skyscraper lmao.

2004 was VASTLY superior to 2003 imo. To the point that it was worth it for them to rerelease the same game, only this time fixed.

imo anyway.
