FMPONE Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 I'm just saying if the games mafia (yes they exist) got a hold of me. Wouldn't make a diff. Couldn't say Quote
Zyn Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 Big post about the Commande Mode in BF4 : http://blogs.battlefield.com/2013/08/the-road-to-battlefield-4-commander-mode/ In addition to this, you’ll also be able to designate High Value Targets, useful for pointing out especially dangerous enemies on the battlefield. An enemy on a kill streak of six or more will appear on the Commander’s screen as a selectable unit. This player’s location can be relayed to the entire team for a period of time (45 seconds at the moment). So if you do well, you become EVERYONES target. Oh boy. And being a popular game, cheaters are bound to happen and will light up the map constantly. Quote
Thrik Posted August 31, 2013 Author Report Posted August 31, 2013 lmao! That could actually be amazing if it tells the target they've been highlighted, so they can shit themselves and think of how to survive the next 45 seconds. It provide the kind of high-tension burst you normally only get in single-player games. Even better would be if the player were highlighted for both teams, allowing the target's team to be white knights and protect him. Quote

It provide the kind of high-tension burst you normally only get in single-player games. The full paragraph: In addition to this, you’ll also be able to designate High Value Targets, useful for pointing out especially dangerous enemies on the battlefield. An enemy on a kill streak of six or more will appear on the Commander’s screen as a selectable unit. This player’s location can be relayed to the entire team for a period of time (45 seconds at the moment). The Commander can add this aspect to a game where most players will shift focus for a while and hunt/protect this HVT player, as both teams are alerted about this Commander “promotion” when it happens. The attackers will receive additional bonuses when taking out said target, while the target will receive bonuses when performing kills while being HVT – thus both parties have something to gain from this. GTA’s classic “wanted stars” system is what we used as an inspiration for this, we think the highly skilled players will accept this challenge as the ultimate proof of becoming a lethal threat on the battlefield. As far as personal favorites go, the High Value Target is probably mine for the rush you get when you know that potentially the entire team is after you! So yes, both teams get told who the HVT is, and so does the HVT for the duration. When "You are a High Value Target" pops up on your screen, it's time to leg it. Quote

Beck Posted October 1, 2013 Report Posted October 1, 2013 Just got to rank 3 in the beta. Lots of fun but there's a few graphical glitches here and there for me. First game in a good few years that I can't run at high. Time for an upgrade me thinks! Quote
PogoP Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Hmmm, I'm really not enjoying this on 360. Looks like absolute shite, and the level is so open.. There's barely any cover anywhere lol. It feels like the level is still in blockout. Gonna have to compare it to PC! Quote
Izuno Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Someone on my facebook feed (long time industry vet) was gushing over the beta. I myself have not tried it but here's what he had to say. And here's your grain of salt and stuff for what it's worth. BF4 continues the strong tradition of creating my all time favorite game moments. Today I crashed my transport helo into the tallest tower in the city with my full squad inside. We had been owning the map with both guns blazing and RPG's fired out the doors. When we hit the tower, we were ejected into the building only losing one person. The building then decided it was done existing, and started to fall. We all jumped out of the building together, free fell 150 stories and landed together on a nearby roof top eliminating the pesky snipers that had been there. The game is gorgeous, responsive, and gives me the chills on a regular basis. Kudos DICE. Quote
