-HP- Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 yeah, here's some ingame stuff. RAGE looked fucking dope, but this... this is great. I see Machinegames also made a few tweaks to the engine. selmitto, D3ads, ⌐■_■ and 4 others 7 Quote

JeanPaul Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 I am extremely interested to see what a 3rd party company does with id tech 5. Thurnip 1 Quote
D3ads Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 So looks like an alternate future where London is occupied by the nazis, could be very interesting... Quote
Seldoon182 Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 yo foo i was sceptical because the teaser trailer had a grindhouse feel but those screenshots are dope ! Quote
Mazy Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Hmm intermaresting, ex-Starbreeze folks is a good thing in my book, I've dug most things they've done. Oh and screw that trailer, I've had All Along The Watchtower stuck in my head all day because of that Zarsky 1 Quote
Jenn0_Bing Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 I am hopeful this will be awesome, the ex-Starbreeze heritage is certainly promising, always enjoyed their games. Those screenshots look very promising, sharp textures for id Tech 5! I am a little bit disappointed they've gone the whole "alternate reality" route. Part of what was alluring to me about the Wolfenstein format was the, slight plausibility of the situation, as it was always located somewhere hidden by the Nazis/kept secret by the Allied forces. Ultimately I'll just be happy with a solid shooter and the Wolfenstein style. Bring on the hulking monsters and laser guns! Quote

Yeh, I know what you mean, but srsly, reality is boring. People want to seize reality, get out of the computers and go breath fresh air. I love that their embracing a more fantastical world. A world they can actually be creative and not restrained by the cuffs of the so called "realism". FMPONE 1 Quote
Jenn0_Bing Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Very true, I'm sure it'l be better for the project. After the last Wolfenstein, they couldn't really go bigger and still have the same "it's a secret" thing going on anyway. I mean a whole Town is pretty hard to keep secret to begin with. Ultimately I am a game play > realism guy, so this doesn't pain me too much. And anyway, those peeks at post-WWII Nazi London look awesome, can't wait to explore it. Quote
Thrik Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 I agree that it's a bit of a shift in focus for the series with things clearly being taken to the epic scale, and it's something that'll inevitably draw comparisons with games like Killzone, Resistance, etc. In fact Killzone is probably this games' biggest rival as that game is absolutely drenched in sci-fi Nazi-esque imagery. Still, I'm optimistic a good game will come out of it. At the end of the day the old Wolfenstein stories have been told, and this is an opportunity to take some of its stronger elements and make something that can actually succeed in today's market. An IP as venerable as Wolfenstein deserves it. blackdog 1 Quote
blackdog Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 (edited) So the game is not going to have multiplayer(!) No multiplayer in new Wolfenstein Watch out, Warren Spector is out and dropping bombs Edited May 8, 2013 by blackdog Quote
-HP- Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Awesome! Focusing on that SP, love it! Also, Spector has been doing this longer than most of us walked this world, he's seen a lot, people need to give him a break. You're gonna be strong opinionated too if you get to his age and managed to stick to this industry, lol. D3ads 1 Quote
D3ads Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Make multiplayer only game - "Fuck yeah this kicks ass, who needs singleplayer" Make singleplayer only game - "Fuck you, where's my multiplayer?!" Quote
