DrywallDreams Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 This thing looks way cool, I'm still on the fence about buying it though. The ending of New Order totally killed my enthusiasm for the game, though. Hopefully they figured out that bullet sponges are really obnoxious. Quote
Sprony Posted May 5, 2015 Author Report Posted May 5, 2015 Hmm, looks familiar... Oh, that's it.... Quote
Sprony Posted May 12, 2015 Author Report Posted May 12, 2015 I finally got around to playing the first 2 hours or so. It's a great game. MachineHead basically made an tribute to the classics. It just lives and breathes Wolfenstein. Plus, the castle has never looked better. I'm also digging all the easter eggs. This is what I've found so far: Quote
dux Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 I'm not enjoying it as much as I'd hoped. The stealth sections at the start just annoyed me too much that it is souring the rest of the experience for me. Quote
Hipshot Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Is this a steam works game (if I buy it anywhere else, does it register through steam)? Have it ever been on sale yet? Quote

Plus, escapes should be a sneaky affair Is this a steam works game (if I buy it anywhere else, does it register through steam)? Have it ever been on sale yet? It's on Steam. You can buy a key from a 3rd party for 15 euro. It's worth that money! Quote
Hipshot Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Im not asking cause I don't want the game. I'm just askin =) So, have it been on sale yet and is it a steamworks only game? =) Quote

Hipshot Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 So, using the steamspy, we can calculate that the game have sold for about 30M USD, with valves fee, that gives Zenimax around 20M on the sales. Quote
Sprony Posted May 13, 2015 Author Report Posted May 13, 2015 That doesn't sound bad! Where are you going with this? Quote

Once I got past that annoyance I played the game how it is meant to be played. Guns for hands. Quote
Hipshot Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 That doesn't sound bad! Where are you going with this? Cause with numbers like that, it's easier to speculate if there's gonna be a sequel, or if the series will be rebooted once again in 6 years. Ok, so there was an expansion just released, that probably means it went well enough! Sprony 1 Quote
Sprony Posted June 13, 2016 Author Report Posted June 13, 2016 They dropped a pretty obvious hint for the sequel last night New Colossus! Quote
blackdog Posted May 19, 2018 Report Posted May 19, 2018 Finally installed and started playing New Order. I'm really enjoying this, great weapon feeling and pacing for missions. I love the detail they've put in the environments, greatly inspiring, especially the resistance hideout. Also crowbars showcased in so many bonus areas made me wonder if they were easter eggs to HL... the way the crates brake already felt like the HL mechanic. Not enjoying too much having to spam "USE" to pick up supplies after a shootout. Also the friggin' Enigma Machine feels a bit of a cheat in terms of extras, you already search wide to find these papers... and they only unlock a section of the machine. I looked up to see how the system works because I thought it was to create a message in letters, not number series. I appreciate them hiding/showing the solution on blackboards and the experienced gamer made me screenshot a couple but like I said I thought I was looking for something else. Quote
