I would like to present the videogame on which i've worked for about a year with a couple of friends.

I've made all the graphics, working in Photoshop (basically all vectors, no painting); only the strip-comics were made by another team member.

Smashing Planets is a game where players must defend the Earth from the attacks of the maleficent purple aliens, they want to profit on us from a reality show!

The game features intuitive touchscreen controls for tablet and smartphones, but also runs on Windows PC with mouse support.

The four of us formed Ad Maiora Games after the accolades awarded in the Italian chapter of the Global Game Jam 2011, so we kept iterating on the original prototype (featuring a totally different mechanic).

It is now available on the App Store, Google Play Store and Windows Phone Marketplace while on Windows PC it will be coming soon.

I'm eager to hear your feedbacks, but if you like it off-the-bat I encourage you to "Like" it on facebook! ;)

We do have a trailer too:

Looks really cool! Just bought it from the Google Play store (errr, didn't that think used to be called the Android Marketplace?).

I'll post up a few comments when I've given it a go!

Initial thoughts. This is just gonna be really random comments in no particular order as I think of them.

The 'victory' music could do with a bit of work. It seems a bit poor compared to the great level music. Seems almost like stock music rather than something made for the game.

It would be nice if you could see the trajectory of your rocket when you let go with your finger. It's a bit hard to judge if your shot is going to miss an enemy, so I think you should keep the trajectory on screen.

Perhaps it would also be good if you could alter the trajectory of your rockets as they're in the air? I'm not sure if that would work or not. I'm speaking from my experience of a game called 'Flight Control' which lets you change the trajectories of planes as they come into land and feels really satisfying.

Sorry for the delay, i did read the comments when you did posted 'em and notified the project leader.

I understand what you mean for the trajectories, Flight Control was my first purchase for my iPod Touch ;) i've thought of that myself but i'm not sure if it would work, guess you just have to try. Maybe it can be something for a particular kind of missile... this week we are trying to come up with some new contents to update the game.

The trajectory makes sense, but i think it hasn't been implemented because you shoot a lot of missiles and the screen is already cluttered in some situations.

I'll discuss with the lead if he had any thoughts on this, thanks again :)
