I know the hardcore guys who played civ4 to the death hates it, especially because of the reduced complexity and of the army system that won't let you stack units on a single case; but personally i prefer it much more like it is right now :], you have to build a waterproof front and use flanking techniques to win which is much more realistic; even if the scale is off.

I dunno. Singleplayer was a lot better in Civ4. Discovering new religions and building new landmarks was actually meaningful since they had special videos for that and shit. I also think it was easier to see the cities progression in Civ 4. Basically Civ 5 is a more streamlined and polished game but Civ 4 feels more special to me :)
