I'm landing in Dublin. Anything there in particular, some hidden treasure perhaps that only few know about? All google gives me is some penny something bridge that doesn't seem all that impressive

Loads to see in Dublin for sure. Well only ever been for the Airport/seaport but I am told its good. The North West coast (Giants causeway area) area has tons to see if you want to go that far north.

i've only heard super positive stories about ireland from friends but i could never quite figure out what was so special about the country... now i really wanna go too and i'm not even sure why

AGREED. Guiness is very rarely my choice of drink t.t I vastly prefer Waterloo Dark if I'm going to have a dark beer.

As for what to do in Ireland, some guy who wrote something I googled said to stay in the "Dublin, Wicklow, Athlone, Shannon" area. He also mentioned a 'crystal factory' that may be worth a look. I know I'd be hitting up some pubs so make sure to do that too

I'll try googling those things and find out what's so special about 'm or whatever. Besides that, the pubs are inevitable. Both me and my girl are fans of the whole alcohol drinking thing.

From what I've gathered Ireland is a lot like the rest of the UK in that it doesn't have that much in the way of outstanding landmarks or museums or whatever, but it does have a lot of beautiful scenery and inns embedded in a huge amount of local culture/tradition. Whenever I've been on holidays around the UK it's always been relatively basic stuff like walking around cliffs, shores, etc (ie: outdoor stuff) — but always very enjoyable. :derp:
