r1ar Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Bought. Very bad Optimization, don't buy today this game for PC. I have good fps but freezes on any settings(!) - i tried play on Ultra/Hight/Middle settings, no difference. Memory Leak? Piece of shit! Game lagging like Crysis in 2007, but Crytek game still looks amazing. Specs: Intel i7 3770. ASUS 680 2GB(last driver). 8GB RAM. WIN7. Full HD. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 It's kind of impressive how ugly the minimum settings make this game, while still doing absolutely nothing to change framerate lol. For the low settings it looks like they just computationally cut poly counts and downresed textures without any polish, and it looks like absolute garbage. Like how games back in 2004/5 used to do it, before shaders and post-processing and resolution started to be the primary heavy hitters of performance. Quote

Grinwhrl Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 I haven't had any issues with watch dogs on the ps4. I didn't really like it all that much at first, same feeling I had with GTA 5 as well, but once I got used to it all I'm quite enjoying it. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 I've put it down until that PC optimization patch Ubisoft announced comes out. Thankfully State of Decay just released its "Lifeline" DLC that adds a brand new environment, so I've got something to fill my time. Hopefully that's good Quote
RaVaGe Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 This is the first game wich makes crash my computer when I try to play it, I think they focused a lil' bit too much on the hacking part. -HP- 1 Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 What people were expecting, a real life simulation ? I can find hundreds of those glitches in GTA. That's like very harsh and grumpy. I'm wondering why this game gets all the hate (won't buy it anyway lol) Is it because their marketing campaign created too many over hyped expectations ? Or nowadays players are that picky they want a refund when they have no splach FXs for shots in the water ? Em', deceiver and leplubodeslapin 3 Quote
Sentura Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 They hate it because they are unhappy with their lives Quote
Pampers Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 I really like the combat so far, feels like playing Heat when huge gunfights starts in the streets and the AI isn't super stupid either. Anyway, the main character has the same amount of appeal as a tea bag, white male with a raspy voice, just like the newest splinter cell and deus ex Had a random dude come into my game and tried to hack me, ended up in a car chase where he went over a bridge and raised it, but I found a ramp and jumped over and landed on him. Awesome. Grinwhrl, Sentura and blackdog 3 Quote
ZZZ Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 This all seems to be publisher's pressure to get the game released as soon as possible. Quote
tomm Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 What I find shocking is the budget that was over $68 millions, like wtf? I'm not impressed .. seems like a game that was made for the people who jump on every hypetrain.. omg watch dawgz so cool! but what do I know, I haven't played it. Quote
Taylor Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 The only thing worse than people being disappointed because not every surface in a city has a real-time reflection, is journalists and gamers asking to cut it some slack for being "the first in the series." -HP- 1 Quote

I'm wondering why this game gets all the hate (won't buy it anyway lol) Is it because their marketing campaign created too many over hyped expectations ? Or nowadays players are that picky they want a refund when they have no splach FXs for shots in the water ? That is really harsh. Most of the stuff in the video may not be perfect, but a lot of it is very minor stuff like the water splashes or the sun that keeps on reflecting on a building in the shadows. I think it is getting a backslash both because they pushed it so hard for being next gen and awesome, and because perhaps on a bigger scale people are also not yet convinced by what next gen really means. What the value of having next gen consoles really is compared to having PS3/Xbox360s. And when the game doesn't has as many obvious next gen features as promised, bugs, or some graphically cut corners, you get an extra harsh backslash. Quote
PaulH Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Don't really mind about the graphics and I like the combat in this, but some aspects of the game are frustrating me somewhat. Case in point is the mission where you have to infiltrate a multi-story carpark with the objective of finding some guy and 'knocking him down'. Spent about half an hour doing this, tried numerous times to drive in and make it past all the bad guys until I got to the top level - at which point said bad dude would get in his car and try to drive out. I'd ram him until he got out, and then i'd carefully knock him down with my car/van. If he got up I knocked him down again. He wasn't dying, but the objective wasn't completing, so I tried a different approach. I went for the stealth option and snuck into the lower level of the car park. Hacked a camera and subsequently hacked into a guy with a mounted camera (on his face apparently). This guy slowly made his way upstairs after stopping to examine every wall in the car park, at which point I jumped from his camera to another wall mounted one. I got into a position where I could see the bad guy, looking over the side of the car park having a smoke. Nearby were a few distraction items and on the floor was one of those flip-up barrier things. "Perfect", I thought, I'll get him to walk over the flippy thing by causing a distraction and when he's right on top of it I'll flip him over. Problem was that blowing up wall panels and steam vents didn't cause the required distraction, he simply turned around to have a look, and then went back to smoking, without moving. Had to resort to looking on YouTube at a walkthrough in the end for how to complete it. Turns out by 'knock him down' I was meant to go up to him and give him a hand to hand beatdown. Ran through shooting everyone in the face with a silenced pistol until I reached the guy and gave him a good beating for wasting my time. Now why is it that my other, more creative methods weren't accepted? Aside from these issues, my experience is much the same as Grinwhrl's, the more I play the more I enjoy it, but perhaps that's as a result of getting used to what kind of game it actually is Quote
