insta Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Hello again. I'm sorta confused about how many players HL2DM is "supposed" to be played with. When I'm looking for a server to play on, most servers have a 14 player limit, but as I understand it, the upper limit is up to 64 players... Does this mean that our maps have to support that many players? How are you handling this problem? My map is aimed at 8-14 players, with 16+ spawnpoints. Hopefully this won't disqualify the map just because the HL2 engine can support 64 player games... Quote
st0lve Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Just take a look at that rundown vmf file, and I already know that there is not 64 spawns on it. Aim 8-14 Quote
Drakeee Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 64 players would be MENTAL in hl2dm.. 6-8 is just right I'd say Quote

Thrik Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 My guess is that all those spawns aren't going to be used at once, so that many spawns isn't necessary. Source probably doesn't let people spawn inside of each other like HL1 did either. Just put the spawns you do have in spread out locations, so you don't end up with every bastard spawning next to each other. Quote

SonicDM Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 yeah if you put a prop on a playerspawn spot you spawn on top of it its done very well Quote
