Ah ok, I have a fairly powerful machine here at work and the game runs really choppy. Will try, thanks.

Yeah same, it helped me to set the graphic settings to default, then set the resolution to native and turn off post processing, I think I also turned off motion blur and set AA to max.

So they changed the spawning locations in the game so you don't start too near the good loot. 

 

I don't think many people like this spawn location:

 

Me and a friend had a couple of guys stalking us through Elektro earlier tonight. We led them out of the city on the East side and they kept following us but we kept evading them. Eventually we lay in some bushes and waited for them to pass. I shot one in the back, he dropped and I shot him again to make sure he was dead. My friend shot at the other guy but missed and that guy logged out (Very lame).

 

Anyway I looted the guy I killed, got lots of food and ammo. As my friend was going to look at the left over the guy that had combat logged a couple of minutes ago was now to our East and shot my friend. He managed to survive and we retreated.

 

Combat logging is so lame, especially when player server hop to gain an advantage. That guy knew we'd be looting that corpse so he loaded up a different server, moved his character to a better location and then shot at us when we didn't know where he was. It really annoys me. 

 

What's the point of playing the game if you're going to alt+F4 everytime someone shoots at you. Sure you might lose your stuff but for me most of the fun is starting from nothing and getting geared up again. The server hopping annoys me the most. It's so unfair that players can effectively relocate to gain an advantage without us knowing. There's not much they can do about this at the moment though.

 

Still enjoying it. So many tense moments!

Surely a WoW style 10 second logout would fix that?

Yeah in the mod if you fired your gun or were in close proximity to another player you would have to wait to log out. I guess stuff like that will come in the future but right now it's really annoying.

In the many propositions from the community to solve the insta-logout-in-fight, this was the baddest...

Imo, the easiest way to solve this would be to let a persistent image of the character where and when someone disconnects for few seconds.

 

This would be more realistic, and if you disconnect when you think you are safe but you were chased by a hunter that kills you, at your next spawn you'd have a popup message like "you are dead, taking a nap in these woods was not a good idea".

I had two of the weirdest things ever happen to me this morning when playing.

I spawned in on a new life, and ran into the first building I saw, a dude came up behind me, dropped his shovel, hat, and backpack and said 'Dude just beat me to death please, take my things'. So I did and I walked away, thinking he had a buddy who was gonna snipe me or something (he didn't).

So I go to the other side of town and see this guy standing outside a building. I ask him 'is there anything inside that building?' and he says 'No man.. but hey, HI FIVE!' and so I high five him....

..he proceeds to crouch and assume the crouching surrender pose, and whispers softly 'make me your prisoner' and starts leaning back and forth.

I never ran so far away in my life.

This is insane! More than 800k sales within the month as an alpha. Seriously thinking about getting it as well. Gaming backlog is huge but I must know what all the fuzz is about! Are there Mapcore groups?

I'm tempted to get this myself, more so if there's a Mapcore group. I don't think I'd enjoy it so much on my own, I need protection while I learn the ropes.
