Sprony Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 I already said in the "What have you watched recently" thread that it was awesome. But I really feel it deserves a topic of it's own. I was surprised not to find one already. But based on the the comments I found, a lot of you are not really that into it. Anyway, I expected it to be fun but I was pleasantly suprised that it was really good. Yes, it's a superhero movie and yes, a lot of things don't make sense but.....it has a lot of entertainment value. The characters are great. Especially how they interact with one another. The story is ofcourse predictable but nevertheless, it keeps you wanting to know how it ends. The dialog is awesome, great oneliners and lots of humor. The action is spectacular and well cut. No shaky cams or heavily cut scenes where you have no idea what's happening. It's not a bad acid trip like in Transformers. It gives you a nice overview of what's going on. The CGI is also very well done. So you basically got everything. Great action, dialog, characters, humor and CGI. If you like entertainment, this will be your money worth. Only downside is the sudden change in the Hulk [you'll understand what in mean when you see it] and the 3D doesn't add anything. If you can choose, I would go for the 2D version instead. But these are minor complaints. The five of us were all very enthousiastic about it Quote
Thrik Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 Saw it last night. Thought it was absolutely splendid! I'll happily admit I was very apprehensive about it as the trailer didn't seem very special and I'm kind of conditioned to expect these crossover type films to be a bit shit. But in fact it was a fantastic film, excelling in pretty much every way — I thought the airship and sequences involving it were particularly awesome. Honestly, just an all-round sublime film. I really can't imagine many people watching it and not getting a kick out of at least some of it, although I think it's going to be significantly better if you've seen the various characters' own films and understand where they're coming from. I really enjoyed seeing Loki again as having a literal god as your villain is always going to be sweet, and the bit where Hulk smashed him around like a ragdoll was hilarious. Great success. Looks like the critics are loving it too with the Rotten Tomatoes score at 95%. Quote
Puddy Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 I've booked tickets for tomorrow. Wasn't expecting anything special when I booked them... but now you've got me all hyped! Probably not a good thing. Quote
2d-chris Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 yeah it was really really awesome, |had a great time, exactly what the movies should be ;] Quote
Seldoon182 Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 Watched Avengers last wednesday and yeah the Hulk was so damn funny ! Iron man still the best imo! Very entertaining ! really worth my money! Quote
Froyok Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 Saw it today. I say "meh" to you guys, it's not a bad movie, but "meh" not a great movie too. The character of Loki is more interesting than in Thor, but for the others is pretty bad. Some fight are cool, some other not. 6/10 for me. Just enough for entertain me. Of course the humour in the movie is great ! Hulk powa ! Quote
syver Posted April 30, 2012 Report Posted April 30, 2012 found the 2/5th part of the movie pretty dull, but the rest made up for it. the amount of action they managed to pack into the end of the movie is ridiculous. Quote
Nysuatro Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 Brilliant! The first minute was bad though! i thought i was in a man in black movie first Quote
Chimeray Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 Saw it yesterday, enjoyed it very much...except: That Swedish cinema's really suck... or at least the ones in Stockholm do. I can live with the crappy seats, that every room in the cinema is inconsistent with another... I can even do without THX sound. But blurry 3D (even double pictures at certain depths), seriously??? Even the subtitles were out of depth all the time, it was barely watchable. Learn to calibrate your shit FFS. Was the worst 3D experience I ever had, and that for €15, it was outrageous. Just had to vent Every time I go see a movie here in Stockholm it's something else...pfff. Oh well, thank god I can get it on 3D bluray down the line and rewatch it at home. Quote
Pampers Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 Yeah had to see it in 3d as well, sucks so much, its just a shitty gimmick to charge extra for your ticket. Maybe it will be better in the future, but atm it's shit. Quote
Minos Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 I felt like an idiot standing in a huge line to see this movie last night. Not worth at all imo. Just another hero movie but with Scarlett Johansson. If you have seen one of the marvel movies you have seem them all. 5.9/10 (i'd give it a solid 4 if it was not for Scarlett) Quote
