nonono its a little from the story. I just want to get a feel for the engine so i can dive strait into development.

Its SMART to release a demo BEFORE the game is out, so that people can go "WOW I GOT TO BUY THIS!" (yes with caps lock), insted of "oh helloes whats the purpose of a demo when almost everyone got the game?"...

st0lve: Nah, for HL2 (aswell as Doom3) I think it works best the other way around.

Because of all the hype this games got, many bought it once it was released. I think the demo is to "convince" the ones that wasn't sure to buy it or not, that this game is hot!

Or that they wanted to get hl2 out soon as possible
