Thrik Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Every time this thread is bumped I check my balls. Great to hear you're still doing OK and that there's a clear path for you. Quote
arhurt Posted April 26, 2012 Author Report Posted April 26, 2012 Hehehehe, keep checking those balls man! Just a small update, I'm nearly done with the first round of chemo. Must say I'm not in my best shape, but then noone was expecting me to anyway. I spend around 3 hours a day in the clinic taking the meds. I mainly spend that time reading and watching TV comfortably in a chair with my servan... nurses assisting in whatever I want, pretty spiffy if you ask me. As for work I've been going to the studio everyday helping with the prototypes we are making for another work for hire, but the GDD part I'm really lacking behind. Sitting in front of the PC typing and drawing gives me a bit of nausea, so my efficency dropped significantly and stuff that should take me a few days is taking a whole week to get done... I'm really not trying to stress over the fact that there's noone else to do these things in there, and I know that the project as a whole will suffer greatly from it, but what can I do right? Man gotta get better, fuck the police! I can't wait to get to the point of shaving my head though. I'm purposedly letting my hair and beard get to "distressed" status, a few more days and I should look like a total maniac. And then: Quote
Furyo Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 Dude, I've seen the amount of hair that grows on you. there is no way in hell chemo will get the best of that. You are a bear, and chemo is going to run away scared. Quote
robert.briscoe Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 you might be down one ball, but your bollock-to-man ratio is higher than mine will ever be! respect! Quote
arhurt Posted September 16, 2012 Author Report Posted September 16, 2012 So I have been kindly reminded that I haven't given any updates in here for a long... long time. Hell, it's about time! Chemotherapy is over. I can tell you it was not the best, happy times of my life. It was really an eye opener to me as to the suffering of other people, as I couldn't even guess what it would be to go through something like that at an older age or if you already have some other kind of illness or disability. Heck, now that I think of it I got it off easy, not only was my cancer not at all a big threat to my life but I started treatment entirely healthy and it only lasted for 2 months. Some people do this over six months and that would have been insane! As for what happens now I've done blood tests and an MRI but so far it has been inconclusive if I'll need another round of treatment or not. As far as how I'm feeling I'm doing great, but I have to keep doing exams every other week to check if there is any change. I can't yell "I'm healed" yet but it definitely feels good to be over with chemo, even if just for a while. Other than that I've been playing some Guild Wars 2 as some of you who have me on facebook must have known and I'm devoting a lot of my free time to play some tabletop modern boardgames. Today I might play some Galaxy Trucker and I encourage everyone here to at least buy a copy of Ticket to Ride to play with friends and family! Quote
selmitto Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 That's great news! Now let's arrange a global MapCore meeting and play those board games o/ Quote

ElectroSheep Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 (edited) Bumping this thread because I have to scan my balls Just a little pain since Saturday so I took a appointment with a doctor (I didn't know him so it was "Hello ! Happy new year !!! Look at my balls !!!!) He said there is nothing really wrong but still I have to scan just in case. When it started to hurt (not a lot, it's just an annoyance) I thought about this thread and OMG NO I DON'T WANT TO CUT IT !!! Wish me luck guys ! Edited January 7, 2013 by 3Dnj Thrik 1 Quote
⌐■_■ Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 it's probably nothing, you won't believe how many dudes have painful balls and even íf there is something strange like a little bulb or something; in most cases it's not cancer, or at least not a deadly form anyway. i'd be glad to have my balls scanned, just to be sure nothing is wrong! sucks to have a dude check 'm out tho... no female doctors around? -HP- 1 Quote
