Kinky Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 A quick way for EA to learn (again) that when this shit is pulled people who would normally pay for a game will pirate it because the crack is easier to use than their servers. /sigh Quote
Minos Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Just bought it on amazon, they are giving a $20 gift card as well (much better than Origin's deal ) Quote
Vilham Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 seeing more and more reviews, don't think im going to get it till it hits like £20 Quote
Skjalg Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 As much as I want to play this, it will have to wait until after sc2 Quote

Thrik Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Been watching some review videos of this and the small size of the cities is really putting me off. While I don't expect the cities to be as infinitely big as is possible with the relatively basic 2D graphics of old, they really are very small this time around. The more in-depth simulation and such is great, but when the city is more like the size of a small town it's hard to take it seriously. At least you can have multiple cities in one region, but that's not the same as one big cohesive city with nice suburbs, proper spitting up of sectors, etc. The size of the cities right now pretty much requires that you squish everything into a big, unattractive mess; if you want distinct zones with their own look and feel you have to split them up into separate cities. I read somewhere that the size is so small due to the way the online stuff works, and that it could be increased later. I'm not sure why this would be the case but I hope so, I will definitely buy it when they do this. Wouldn't surprise me if this comes via DLC regions with bigger city plots, though. Quote
Zyn Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 The citysizes won't increase until the powerhouses we have today (highperfomance gaming rigs) are mainstream, i.e. even your dad has one ( source ) ... which is a stupid decision. Why not just let people decide for themselves what size they want for their city? Someone with an average rig could pick something small, while another with a gaming computer that can run onehundred instances of Crysis and Dwarf Fortress at once can pick a gigantic city size. And when they allow larger cities, it will without a shadow of a doubt be paid DLC. Plus reviewers are pointing out that the game has seemingly intentional limitations, a telltale for future paid DLCs. Quote
Beck Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Yeah I'm going to hold off buying this. Pretty much for the reasons Thrik said. It just looks stupid having industry so close to commercial sky scrapers and picturesque suburbs just over a highway from it all. I guess if you put commercial in it's own zone and residential in another you could kind of make a large "city" with proper zoning. But then you don't really have to manage the pollution and stuff since it's all contained in it's own zone. Fail. Quote
Skjalg Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 All the while reading your post, Zyn, I looked for a dislike button Quote
Skacky Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 (edited) http://www.rockpaper...ty/#more-144319 Huge surprise. They seriously need to stop that shit. I was looking forward to this game, but this combined with other people's impressions is really making me think twice. Guess I won't be buying anything off EA anymore too.
