mutatedjellyfish Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Yoyoyo yo yo yo http://www.worthdayley.com Thought I would finally post on here, and put my portfolio up to gawk at. I am open to critique across the board, website or work. I am also looking for permanent employment. Cheers! Quote
e-freak Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 really like your style! keep it up Quote
Warby Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 you sir have a lot of style i tip my hat Quote
PogoP Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Firstly, maybe don't start with 'Yoyoyo yo yo yo' and then just link to your portfolio. Comes across as rude With your portfolo, I can't tell what exactly you want to do in the industry. Do you want to be a character modeller or an environment artist? Quote
-HP- Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 That's one nice stylized portfolio!! Welcome to the core man. Quote
RedYager Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Theres some great work there, I love the dog cart ! Quote
mutatedjellyfish Posted February 22, 2012 Author Report Posted February 22, 2012 Thanks, guys! I meant no rudeness by my greeting. I just feel like I know a lot of people here already. I've always hung out with the mapcore crowd since the early 2000s, but it's always been on irc and not the forums. To answer the question, I'm an environment artist/texture artist. I've always been a bit more liberal with my portfolio. I have some things in progress that will tip it more in that direction though. Quote
PogoP Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Possibly rudeness was the wrong word... Actually you know what, fuck it, this is MAPCORE (land of the fun times) not LinkedIn (land of business and seriousness) I showed my senior your portfolio earlier and he agreed with me that there is a lot of stylised stuff in there (which is good, dont get me wrong), but it might be good to show a bit more variety in your texture work. Not many companies use that very stylised, cartoony art style, and I feel you may be limiting yourself to a certain genre. Maybe show some high poly work, or a scene in UDK/Cryengine. Try something unique and blow everyone away Quote
mutatedjellyfish Posted February 22, 2012 Author Report Posted February 22, 2012 Good feedback, and I agree, and once I'm able to post my Disney work, it'll be even more slanted. I have a list of projects I would like to do, and those things you mention are on that list. Additionally, I have a realistic environment in progress in the UDK as well. Quote
PogoP Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Awesome man, looking forward to seeing it. That's weird, I just worked on a Disney title too... But I'm not sure whether to put it on my folio or not Quote
Minos Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Very nice, love your texturing style Quote
Mazy Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Oh my dog, it's MJF!~~~long time~~nice portfolio~ Quote
