Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas. (debatable)

Jackie Brown. (again debatable)

Equilibrium.

How is this a list of underrated movies? It seems that people constantly rave about almost every film listed.

What exactly constitutes an underrated movie? For some it seems to mean a mediocre or crap movie that they personaly enjoy.

Personaly i would go with movies that have merits similar or better to a much more well known movie but only get a fraction of the attention.

Examples:

The Magnificent Ambersons - Directed by Orson Welles one year after Citizen Kane but imo a better and much more enjoyable film. CK has over 167k ratings on imdb. TMA only a little over 10k.

The Asphalt Jungle - Just as good as The Killing with much of the same cast but doesnt get the same attention because it wasnt directed by Stanley Kubrick. (32k ratings vs. 10k ratings)

Pretty much. I consider an underrated movie one that had little attention upon release or was just generally panned by critics who too quickly dismissed it for x reason.

I would call underrated, a movie that is bellow 7/6 on IMBD. I have a tendency to never watch anything bellow 6, but if someone tells me it's good I'll open an exception, hence why this is actually a useful thread.
