That little stair set looks like it would collapse under its own weight - make it look more supported or attached to the wall. You shouldn't be afraid to use more colour in your level, its all very drab as it is.

you need something more in your level. color, even with the hl2 texture set, is more than just a grayish blend. try experimenting with lighting also. it helps a whole lot.

you should add some more colors, maybe make the lights on the wall red, make some flicker, change up some of the ceiling lamps by slight values etc
