Izuno Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Kinda old topic but after all this time I still haven't upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS5. I hear it's fine now but was just curious if any iPhone 4 (and not 4S) users here have had any problems. Quote
Pericolos0 Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 i dont think i've ever upgraded my iphone since i got it 2 years ago O__O Quote
Mazy Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 I'm usually very cautious to update it, end up waiting a few weeks before I do so (just to be sure it isn't broken). Did the same with 5.0 and 5.0.1, but they both seem to work fine on my iPhone 4. Still haven't tried updating the OS using the actual phone, even if it sounds more convenient. Quote
-HP- Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 I'm always skeptical about updating too, Installed 5.0.1 not too long ago on my iPhone4 (not S) and it runs pretty well, and has some nifty new things. If you don't want to jailbreak, then I recommend. Quote
FrieChamp Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 I also waited quite some time until I updated to 5.0(.1) so I'm somewhat relieved that there are others out there who do the same. All my friends update their iPhones 2 seconds after the update is released, so I started to feel like a weirdo. :derp: Like HP I've got an iPhone 4 and so far no issues with the new OS! Quote
PogoP Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 I recommend you all stomp on your iphones, and go get a Samsung Galaxy S2. Quote
2d-chris Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Everytime I update anything my phone gets slower, iphone 3g - apple suck they basically force u to buy a newer one ;/ Quote
Izuno Posted January 16, 2012 Author Report Posted January 16, 2012 Yes Apple has a great business model. Thanks for the feedback. Maybe it's time to update. Quote
-HP- Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 !!Make sure you backup your phone first with itunes!! Quote
Minos Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Everytime I update anything my phone gets slower, iphone 3g - apple suck they basically force u to buy a newer one ;/ Yup, I updated my ipod 3 (I think this is the model??) recently to play newer games and now it runs like crap... Still not sure if it's a coincidence or not but the battery life has also gone from lasting a few days to lasting 24 hours o___O It depletes almost completely even if I barely use it during the day. This is an older ipod so it may just be the battery reaching the end of its life cycle but it's soo annoying having to buy an entire new product after a few years because of a silly thing such as the battery. I have owned my DS for years now and the battery is still as good as it was when I got it... Quote
-HP- Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 No, Apple does it on purpose, it has to, I've experienced this phenomenon too, can't be much of a coincidence, can it? New FW on older hardware is a big no-no, might as well keep the old one. Quote
Serenius Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 I recommend you all stomp on your iphones, and go get a Samsung Galaxy S2. Smartest post in this thread, though my opinion is heavily biased. Quote
Jake Gilla Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 I recommend you all stomp on your iphones, and go get a Samsung Galaxy S2. They can't do that because Apple won't let them have insurance! Quote
Bunglo Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 You can upgrade your iphone by tossing it in the trash and walking away. Quote
e-freak Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 I must admit, after I've seen the Playstation Emulator for Android I was pretty tempted to make the move sooner than later. Quote
