Izuno Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 Um...couldn't find a specific thread about this. If someone finds it then I guess we can discuss there instead of here. Thoughts? Seems like it is having a very solid launch so far however the wait times are long. I have it installed but haven't fired it up yet due to too much on my plate (thanks EA/Bioware for the free copy!!!) Quote
PogoP Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 Looks like the Star Wars MMO: For Kids. I'd rather waste my time playing League of Legends and Dota 2 Quote
Chimeray Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 Got a copy as well Gonna test it sometime tomorrow or something, we´ll see.... Not too much hopes though Quote
Grinwhrl Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 Been playing for the last 7 days and it is by far the most enjoyable mmo I have played. Bioware really knows what Starwars is all about, so much more than lucas arts. If ur on the east coast and looking for a server. A few Ubi foke including myself have a guild on this server. Server - Kellers Void Characters name - Vardek The game is a complete success and unlike other mmo's it plays more like a game than a grind to top level Quote
Rick_D Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 ....aaaand it's flopped. well, that was a good run. see you next time? Quote
Mazy Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 Sooo staying away from it, I'm unable to handle MMOs in healthy doses. Quote
Sentura Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 how is the pvp there, if there is any? Quote
Jake Gilla Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 Bah, subscription MMO's are a commitment, not a game. Quote
Skjalg Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 the guy told me to go into this place and click on something in there and when i was done i was told to go to some city to talk to more people that tell me to do stuff and i was like.. aaaaaw maaaaan ive been doing this so much in wow already, give me a break Quote
Puddy Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 I found myself being slightly interested in the game today... won't pick it up anytime soon since I still got BF3 coursing through my veins and have some other games I want to play. I'll wait and see if this is hit or shit basically Carry on with your thoughts! Quote

Sure its still a traditonal mmo style gameplay but with Biowares level of great Story telling and some other new additions. At least they give meaning to each mission. Skyrim does the exact same thing, go do this and go do that, eat some shit and crap some stat. Quote

I think wow has ruined what used to be my favorite genre. :/ (oh and, when you say companion do you mean a friend in a party because you can totally do quests with friends in wow). Quote
Chimeray Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 First impression (only played like 15 mins last night): Environments seem to my liking, I really hated the ones in Rift... Just open plains with random stuff placed on it (level designers or environmental artists? lol). This on the other hand seems to have taste I apparently hate Star Wars music, orchestra, blahblah. At least on the main screen. Character creation is very 2006... It sucks donkey balls. Wasn´t able to tweak my character to my liking... Feels like one of those from crappy FTP MMO´s... Will do some actual play tonight Quote

The Ai controlled sidekick characters, : :derp: Character creation is very 2006... It sucks donkey balls. Wasn´t able to tweak my character to my liking... Rick_D Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 The Secret World just opened it;s beta, I had a play around and that game is so good I don't know if I should even claim my copy of TOR, is it worth it? What makes this MMO different? Do you have to like Star Wars to be interested in the world? Is the movement and combat any good, compared to other games, or is it press a button and wait? Quote
