knj Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 I'm huge MGS fan, and this is looking like DMC -gameplay wise, i am soooo disappointed in this after wathcing this trailer, but i have my faith in Hideo (!!?) after one of the first trailer this game was called "watermelon cutter", in this game you can cut a lot of stuff, but not everything after all (at first, Hideo wanted to make possible to cut all you see in a scene) this game is made by different dev studio (Platinum Games - they made Bayonetta ) and i really hope this game will be any MGS good . . . Pampers Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 how did they come to see that there is a demand for a game like this? Quote
Rick_D Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 it's like they managed to get absolutely everything wrong impressive Quote
Mazy Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 So long Rising, was nice knowing you Quote
Tailgunner Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 Only thing worse than what I think the game will be is that trailer, fucking amazing how retardedly bad it is. Quote
Serenius Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 but i have my faith in Hideo Why? It's obvious he's gone further off the rails than George Lucas. Quote
Skacky Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 it's like they managed to get absolutely everything wrong impressive My thoughts exactly. This is laughable, and it's coming from a huge MGS fan. Quote
Thrik Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 I'm just as confused as I was when the first trailer came out ages ago. Like then, I can't help but wonder why the Metal Gear Solid IP is being used at all when it's clearly a game that has very little in common with the series apart from the crossover of certain characters and robots. Unlike you guys I do think this will probably end up being a good hack-and-slash game considering the team developing it (MadWorld, Bayonetta). But... why MGS? Why? I think what's actually happened is Hideo was desperate to branch out into doing something else after saying he's done with Metal Gear Solid for the 50th time, only to realise that he was getting pulled back into his beloved IP once again and couldn't help but try and tie in somehow. Then after a while he realised he actually just wants to do MGS5 and has palmed this off to another studio. What else has the Peace Walker team been doing since that game came out? That was Hideo and the bulk of the MGS4 team's last known project — Rising/Revengeance was developed by a separate team from the start. I'm just going to treat Revengeance the same way as games like Portable Ops, Peace Walker, etc. They're relevant and canonical, but they're not really part of the core MGS series I enjoy. Different gameplay, different approach, just different. And not all that important story-wise. As such, probably won't play. Quote
Puddy Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 And I thought MGS was shit already. :x Bring it. Quote
Taylor Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 tbh this is exactly how Raiden was portrayed in MGS4 except he's not getting stabbed in every fight. Quote
Thrik Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 True. Unfortunately I have no interest whatsoever in playing as Raiden, particularly this balls-out ninja version. At least he actually played like Snake in MGS2. And I thought MGS was shit already. :x Bring it. My only emotion is pity that you don't appreciate such an excellent series. Quote
PogoP Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 I thought MGS was about stealth and guns.. Not swords Quote
