Hello Mapcorians

been lurking this forum for some months now and thought i´d may say something about me so you know who´s that strange guy over here.

I´m a 17year old german who´s still enjoying basic school education

I started with Source Mapping when AlienSwarm came out

but gave up pretty fast due to the complexity of hammer in comparison to FarCry2 editor (lolz)

a bit later i started playin Pirates Vikings Knights II (which some of you might now ) which inspired me to have another try with

Source Engine Mapping and after some unreleased and ugly stuff i did this funmap:

The community liked it and i applied for the devteam as a mapper and workin on a official map for now which is like 60% done

(good job on materials and models to hessi and skjalg btw.)

While i know i´d like to work in the video game branche i have no idea what do to after school,

i´m pretty sure that good knowledge with source and low texture skills alone won´t give me a job or even a freelancer position so i´d like to study 3dsmax and maya plus general 2d design but can´t find anything then those high budged private academies.

Would also be interested if its possible to get an internship in a games studio or in general how to start in the game industry

i write this because theres an angry cat in the next room and its the 3.floor so i can´t jump out of the window.. i´m so booored but can´t play with all the other kids wearing those fancy striped pyjamas, pray for me
