kanine01 Posted October 21, 2011 Author Report Posted October 21, 2011 I would like some constructive criticism if you have any. Quote
Puddy Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 It's not too shabby but I think there are some key areas which could use improvement. - Very flat outdoor lighting, dangerously close to "allbright". Try changing the time of day and play around with pitch and colouring. - Flat skybox texture imho. - Detailing is scarce. The maps needs more detailing and irregularities... and overlays! - 3D-skybox with a good "fog" effect and some distant mountains could look cool and give the map a better sense of place. - Some areas have very "flat" ground. Use subtle displacesments. Quote
m8nkey Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 Looks pretty good. I agree with Puddy's suggestions. Maybe consider a liberal use of overlays to break up the exterior walls too. Quote
Serenius Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Outside of the lighting being very flat like Puddy said, your outdoor areas look like they are in very sore need of more cover. Quote
Dysprogue Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 It looks decent so far, The inside looks great the outside lighting could perhaps use a bit of work but it looks good otherwise. However if you want to sell the story behind shady sands (that is is a post apocalyptic settlement) You may want to consider adding additional props in the dining area (such as bottles, cans ect) and the outside looks a little too clean for a place that has supposedly been blasted. Having a look at shady sands in fallout you can see the buildings have pot marks and cracks presumably from debris from the nuclear blast and perhaps raider attacks. (Don't know the full story of Shady Sands never actually played Fallout 1) Looking good, just needs more detail to look great. In my noobish opinion. Quote
