Thrik Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Gotta be honest there was nothing in that trailer apart from the brief run through no man's land (which probably lasts like two minutes) that appealed to me in the slightest. Quote
Warby Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 wow that looks awful. i will stay far away from this one ... Quote
dux Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Go watch tinker tailor spy. It's Gary Oldman. Quote
Steppenwolf Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 As far as horse movies goes i'm more interested in watching Béla Tarr's new film "The Turin Horse": 1889. German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche witnessed the whipping of a horse while traveling in Turin, Italy. He tossed his arms around the horse's neck to protect it then collapsed to the ground. In less than one month, Nietzsche would be diagnosed with a serious mental illness that would make him bed-ridden and speechless for the next eleven years until his death. But whatever did happen to the horse? This film, which is Tarr's last, follows up this question in a fictionalized story of what occurred. The man who whipped the horse is a rural farmer who makes his living taking on carting jobs into the city with his horse-drawn cart. The horse is old and in very poor health, but does its best to obey its master's commands. The farmer and his daughter must come to the understanding that it will be unable to go on sustaining their livelihoods. The dying of the horse is the foundation of this tragic tale. Quote
Minos Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 The only way this movie could have sparked a little interest for me was if the main horse was a Tobiano Pinto (my favourite horse breed). Quote
Izuno Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 It's like South Park season premier (and last episode of last season). Everything just turns to shit. Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Well that's one badass horse, and a true patriot. Looks fun to watch Quote
Grinwhrl Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Half way through, I thought this was a very well done joke, then it was actually real. Quote
Warby Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 seriously a story of a young man who bonds with a fucking horse during times of tragedy that sounds super lame *turns around like a hypocrite and starts playing shadow of the colossus* Quote
Chimeray Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 A horse is just an oversized goat. Ugly as f*ck. How can you ever bond with that kind of animal. Do you see a horse appreciation thread in EOT? Thought not. Quote
