Hi Clint,

I have some crits and comments for you. Firstly you shouldn't start your portfolio with your face, start the portfolio with your art. People want to see that first and foremost and will automatically want to know more about you in person if they enjoy your art. I think you won't need any photo on your webpage so you can either remove it or add it to your CV section. Your CV section is too short and unstructured, also it is kinda hard to read with the CryEngine screenshot in the background. Regarding the screenshots, it seems like you just screengrabbed them and that's why they have a kinda low resolution besides that they still show they displayinfo. Let me redirect you to this site, which shows how to take proper screenshots in CryEngine: http://www.crydev.net/viewtopic.php?f=282&t=69611 (Second post by Lavizh). Also the rest of your pictures are somewhat low resolution and you don't provide high res versions of them but let me tell you that you really should. Thumbnails are good to make the viewer interested but to get a grasp of the detail of the work you should really provide high res screens.

Look at other portfolios around here at the forums, how they did it and try to read up how a portfolio should be built. Some time ago I created a little .pdf with some guidelines on portfolio creation. You can download it here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3601726/Portfolio%20guidelines.pdf

Maybe it'll help you out!

Eww, Flash! It's kinda difficult to navigate as it takes a long time to scroll through all the images from one end to the other and I'm spending a lot of time sitting here simply waiting for things to load up.

Well thanks for the critiq's. trying to find a totally free website builder thats actually free and no charges took me all night just to find wix.com i know its flash.. But if anyone knows an actual free html website builder then let me know, im not made of money. And i'll take down the pictures of me to. also i'll remove the WIP section. I hope "some" of my website's contents was actually good.. for instance my artwork? and the use of cryengine 2? i spend so much time making my level, and ok the images arnt top quality, but can you see that ive put effort into this? thats the whole idea after all with making the editor levels. Once its done and out there for people to play im sure they'll enjoy it.

Well that, and tidy up the CV section. but now finding a free website thats the issue. i appreciate the comments.

im doing the best i can, learning whats needed to get this portfolio up n running, also learning 3dsmax. But i honestly havent been able to learn it at all til not long ago. im 29 and i just hope its not too late to get into the industry. i definatly have the love for it. anyway thanks.

Ok, ive got the console commands working in cryengine 2. ive taken some TGA screens all just over 97,000KB. Now do i just upload these as they are?

the idea of getting into the video game industry is everything for me. ive been playing games since the Intelivision or Commodore 64.. its not something i take lightly. ill make some changes and see what you think. but as for not using the Flash unless i find a good free html site then im stuck with this. :spot:

There are dozens of websites offering free HTML templates if you can't mock up your own. You'll be 10 times better off using any of them.

For now though, I'd concentrate on working on material you can show on that future website rather than the website itself. I mean, in a professional capacity. You mention wanting to enter the industry, and people in this industry will look at what you make before how you present it. Judging by what I'm seeing, you've still got a long ways to go.

As far as your website is concerned, here are a few pointers:

1) Know who you are. Your website presents you as a level designer, an artist and a photographer. None of the work you show there could potentially get you anywhere as a professional. Ditch what you don't want to do professionally if you're going to send this around with job applications.

2) Work on the texts. Besides the obvious spelling mistakes, you could sell your skillset and interest a lot better.
