Vilham Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Following on from that console crysis topic. The next Homefront game will be made by Nottingham-based developer Crytek UK and will "benefit from the latest CryEngine technology", Crytek has told Eurogamer. Crytek UK, formerly known as Free Radical Design, created the multiplayer portion of Crysis 2. FRD was the developer of the TimeSplitters series, Second Sight, and Haze. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011- ... omefront-2 Just make timesplitters 4 already!!!!! Quote
Ginger Lord Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 For the sake of clairty and to stop the rampaging neogaf hordes who patrol the internets, I do know what Timesplitters is and love it. Quote
Puddy Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Oddly, I'm a bit interested. Homefront never looked that interesting... but I'm guessing that Crytek UK will just keep the theme and setting and invent a new game to surround it. Which is the smart thing to do Quote
Vilham Posted September 20, 2011 Author Report Posted September 20, 2011 Yeah I can imagine if the game is written better and implemented in a better engine it might actually be good. Quote
FrieChamp Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Plus they can recycle Korean assets from the first Crysis, which is a very reasonable thing to do considering the tough business climate... Quote
-HP- Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Plus they can recycle Korean assets from the first Crysis, which is a very reasonable thing to do considering the tough business climate... Well, Crysis is property of EA, and Homefront is property of THQ, so same assets could never be exchanged between projects. Even if they did, I doubt we would do that for characters... tiny props like cans or whatever, maybe, but characters? Never. Quote
Sentura Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 THQ's version of call of duty. juuuuuuuuuust great. Quote

dux Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Didn't this game get panned to hell and back, yet it still gets a sequel? Btw what's timesplitters? Quote
Thrik Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Does seem like a strange choice of IP, it wasn't even a game that particularly penetrated the mainstream from what I saw. Ah well I guess it'll be a good sequel. Quote
Mazy Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Pffft totally saw this coming :derp: Quote
Thrik Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Me too... while staring over Ginger Lord's shoulder completely undetected. Quote
