Sentura Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 probably not of interest to a huge lot of you, but nevertheless, this got me hyped as fuck. i guess if you're a tekken player, this could be your entrance into 2d fighting, and overall the presentation of this looks to be goddamn awesome. they've simplified the controls enough to let beginners roll better, and they've added some sick mechanics and gambles to the overall fighting scene. there are so many reasons to want this game, but i'll let this guy say it how it is: Quote
Erratic Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 SF4 had the best art direction of any game on these consoles and it still shows through even with a weird ass contrast filter. Will buy. Also I've realized I can only play SSIV with Chun-Li with any shred of competence, I'm a shitty fraud of a player. If I can't win I feel bad about everything. Goddam that game. Lost to a shitty Gouke player last night. And a shitty Ryu, the kind of match where you recognize every mistake you make, as you make it, and then continue to make mistakes 'cause you're a sad piece of shit. What thread am I in. Quote
General Vivi Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 I got a bunch of people to start playing it again at work. I'll never give up on you ssf4! <3 Also I can't wait for this game to come out... looks super awesome interesting. Quote
Taylor Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 What thread am I in. The one for the new Madame Tussauds fighting game where you play as melting wax models. I can't get excited for this. I liked SFIV because its simplicity allowed for good fundamentals to shine through and allowed some of my friends to get into the genre. But that aspect is lost bolting all this junk onto it, and it doesn't seem to come across as a deeper game either. It’s clearly done on the cheap for a cross over. If they wanted a chain-heavy series there’s Darkstalkers; though I'm sure that's in the works too, since they hold conferences to say it's not. Hopefully it will have a comeback mechanic so strong you actually do damage to your own health bar, Morrigan will have muscles on her lips, and Talbain will be held back for Super Darkstalkers. Quote
FrieChamp Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Hold on a second...there is a proper beat'em up title (not some fan project) in development that includes Street Fighter AND Tekken characters? My inner 12-year old is dancing filled with joy right now! Quote
Taylor Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Two of them. Namco are making Tekken x Street Fighter which will be 3D. Quote
Sentura Posted September 15, 2011 Author Report Posted September 15, 2011 and i got the feeling both will kick ass. @ taylor: dude, ssfiv was hard to get into in comparison what sxt looks to be. the controls are so simple that it should be the easiest thing in the world. plus 4 player on screen brawling? FUCK YES, i've been waiting for that ever since i figured out i couldn't play def jam vendetta on my ps3 Quote
Taylor Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 I don’t. Also, how can this be easier to get into or easier to control? SFxT is SFIV with more mechanics. All that stuff from SFIV you couldn’t do is still in this game except focus attacks now switch character. If you think SFxT is going to be all target combos then I’m sorry to say this is not the case, even for the Tekken characters. Not only are those impossible special motions a requirement, all the new mechanics take special motions and multiple buttons. It just has a gatling system on normals. Quote
AlexM Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Oh man I'm not sure I can maintain across 3 games. I'm having enough trouble with MvC3 and SSF4 Quote
Minos Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 I stopped caring about SF4 since Mortal Kombat came out Quote
