Jetsetlemming Posted August 27, 2011 Author Report Posted August 27, 2011 I'm in a suburb area in PA, surrounded by tons and tons of old trees. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted August 29, 2011 Author Report Posted August 29, 2011 So yeah that pretty much went as easily as the earthquake did for me. Just had to clean up a few fallen branches in my yard. My lights flickered very very briefly at like 3AM. That was it. Closer to bodies of water, like inside Philadelphia, shit was way worse (In Philly there were cars getting flipped from the storm surge up the Delaware river and stuff like that), but here it was just lots of rain, and a tiny bit of wind. Overall, though, the hurricane was pretty entertaining (ignoring the death and destruction, of course). It brought us things like this: http://www.myfoxny.com/dpp/news/fox-rep ... m-20110827 and this: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=2a0_1314471184 (nws) Quote
Skjalg Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 why is the water turning into foam? Did someone pour soap in it? Quote
Puddy Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 why is the water turning into foam? mother nature got rabies dawg good to hear things went okay Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted August 29, 2011 Author Report Posted August 29, 2011 why is the water turning into foam? Did someone pour soap in it? Raw sewage. Massive storm surges tend to mess up the sewer system (and boardwalk towns tend to be incredibly filthy and have pipes dumping into the ocean anyway). Dude was complaining about the taste of shitfoam. Quote
st0lve Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 He is standing in poo-foam? That's fucking disgusting... Quote
-HP- Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 Wtf is he doing in there in the first place anyway? lmao America TV... Quote
Chunks Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Dumb weathermen are always entertaining. I'm surprised the death toll was as high as it was for a cat 1. Shit was weak in terms of sustained windspeed and such, it must've been the floods that did most of the damage. Quote

Shit was weak in terms of sustained windspeed and such, it must've been the floods that did most of the damage. It hit areas that had absolutely no experience with this sort of thing, that had four days earlier had their first major earthquake in a century. The structural weaknesses for Irene to hit were enormous and widespread. Quote
