Steppenwolf Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Launch trailer released today: And a gameplay trailer that was released not long ago: Quote
Puddy Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Looks better then I'd expected... looks like a game and not some half-assed HL2 derivative. I'm hoping for a free weekend some time soon after release to see if that highly edited trailer is super-deceptive or not. Quote
Thrik Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Haha, it does look good (though not at all like the Nuclear Dawn I remember) although the main feeling I had at the end was that I want a Natural Selection that takes place in a run-down city or something rather than a space station. Quote

Rick_D Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 i gotta be honest it looks dated as fuck Quote
Puddy Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Well, for a person who doesn't work on BF3 I think it looks pretty okay. Not jaw-dropping, but no New Vegas either. Quote
ElectroSheep Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 I agree with puddy, looks good enough to be played well. And source engine + big map = big challenge Quote
Steppenwolf Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 i gotta be honest it looks dated as fuck I take it as a compliment that there was no "faggots" in your reply. Quote
Wesley Tack Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 ImHo if a game is fun it can be on a dated engine. I'd still play Quake2 DM if it was made available like QuakeLive. As for Nuclear Dawn, they deserve to do well, they took a cool concept and made it happen. I think they went through a great deal of hurdles to get it to this point. I hope it will sell enough for them to make a profit out of it. I like the look of the commander mode btw Quote
dux Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 I don't know why, but watching the videos the first person gun models make me go blerehghghgh. The way they bob around so much is disorienting and distracting. Interesting to see what this turns out like. Quote
Rick_D Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 hey i don't make any comments about gameplay or aesthetics or anything like that. i don't want to sound arrogant i hope that doesn't come across like that. i probably should have just kept my mouth shut but where's the fun in that Quote

st0lve Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 If there was an award for "most cheesy launch trailer", you'd win... That's a bad thing. But it looks like a mix of DOD and NS, which could be fun to play.. Quote
Steppenwolf Posted September 7, 2011 Author Report Posted September 7, 2011 Looks like a lot of people who play the beta like the game. Positive previews and youtube videos popping up. Here is one that gives a good overview over the game: And another one with lots of gameplay from one of the maps that i worked on: Quote
Steppenwolf Posted October 3, 2011 Author Report Posted October 3, 2011 http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/nuclear-dawn Decent meta score so far. I've seen a couple more reviews in the 6-8 range and one with a 9 which are not listed there. I hope there will be a free weekend on steam soon so more people give the game a chance. Quote
