interesting to see a team full of hackers on the main stage! props to the poles for having such a disregard for sportsmanship!  ;)

?!

Assuming they didn't hack, which I don't think they did, it was well deserved. Individually, Virtus Pro players could step up in a way that NiP just couldn't do in general. Virtus Pro beasted through those two maps. GG.

weren't they on the official ts? meaning everything they said was heard on the POV stream? shouldn't someone polish pick up on that? :D

or maybe they were sneaky and were connected to two teamspeaks?

I can't imagine any team being able to cheat on an offline tournament. Also, all of them have a great sense of where ennemies are in general anyway (of which I most of the time don't understand how they do it, but it boils down to tactics, communications and off course knowledge of the game/map). Loved the bit where Snax managed to sneak up behind 3 NiP guys though :P

Props to V.P, I think they deserved the win and I'm glad another team has entered top tier.

TBH if you don't prefire like shit in tournament play, you're bad at the game. Seriously, when you know the positions and spots, prefiring an empty position means you wasted what 4-5 bullets? If you hit, you just got a free pick which is a HUGE deal - potentially round-winning if it does something like force a rotation or position change.

e/ and it's not like Virtus.Pro are an unknown org either, back in the day they recruited the original NaVi lineup before they left to become NaVi - you know, starix, Zeus, markeloff, Edward ... those world-leading players. I'm pretty sure VP wouldn't have people who cheat representing them (even beyond how difficult it is to cheat at an offline tournament AT ALL when you turn up, plug your mouse/keyboard/headset into a tournament PC and play from there)...

You should check out their history, they where the best team in the world for a couple of years and had the nickname of "the golden five". They are a very beloved team for those who follow competitive counter strike due to the fact that they got screwed by organisations far more than any other team in the history of the game, this is probably the 10th orga that they represent not to mention that they spent many periods without any company backing them up and having to pay for everything out of their own pockets. At those times they used to play using the clan tag "Again". Despite all of this they managed to stick together since probably 2005 or something like that, all that time with the same lineup, that was only changed after CS:GO came out. They never gave up, even after having some disappointing results when they changed to CS:GO (they got a bit late into the game, and had to take some time to adapt)

They winning this tournament is kind of the Cinderella story of Counter Strike, everyone was hoping for it, even though they had little chances, but they made it, and on their own country versus NiP (neo from VP and forest from NiP are considered the two best players of all time, so there's always a bit of a rivalry when they play against each other). It couldn't have been better.

Regarding all the trash talk during matches, all players and teams act like that, VP where just a bit more vocal, but if you watch the pre and post game videos you can see VP players asking the crowd to cheer for the other team for example. They are known for being nice guys and most players like them.

Actually, it's TaZ, Neo, Snax, pasha and byali.

Ah cool, don't know Snax and byali but the other 3 are legit. Anybody claiming these guys cheat is pretty lolworthy, they've been world class players for so many years now, won so many offline tournaments...
