tr0nic Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) I got to play all the maps yesterday because I tried to get a new crate drop.. didn't happen but man... you think seaside is bad? You should try cs_downtown and cs_motel (holy labyrinthe uninteresting map) These 3 maps don't deserve a spot in my opinion. I quite liked the changes made to de_Ali. Good job sir! I agree with seaside and downtown, but motel is cool. It's less designed as a game map, and more like throwing a real location into the game. It's like Office made more sense. Quote
Vilham Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Motel isn't great competitively, but because its a small map the rounds are nice and fast, which I quite like. Quote
ics Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 This operation is a terrible joke, really. Big respect for all the people in there and I'm not saying that because the 3 maps I worked on are not in this pack but the best thing about operations is to see good new maps actually played with a lot of people. These operation make the csgo map creation more attractive because everyone can hope about a cool release like this. And thanks to that we had a lot of really good quality maps. But with this operation, people will certainly loose their moivation (lol, a lot of people don't give a shit about weapon skins). I'm thinking about the people who are working hard for the last few months to release their map in time, it's just a back stab for them, and more when you are seing seaside AGAIN!!! (seriously? just put it in the official maplist and let us see new stuff !!) What about Overgrown ? Marquis ? Print ? Backalley ? Season ? Castle ? Coudn't have said it better myself. Now were are stuck with 4 months (+ 1-2 extends) with these operation maps. Valve has always been bad communicating what they do and they take the easiest, safest route to please majority of the players. Quote
text_fish Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Blleeeaaarrggh. Weapon skins bore me. Want new maps. Buying anyway because I'm a sucker for community content. Valve should just buy Motel, Agency and Thunder to add to the official hostage rotation to beef it out. Quote
Pampers Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 so when is mapcore going to obliterate the sticker scene? blackdog 1 Quote
Puddy Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 I would recommend that our artists should focus on weapon skins though. 1. Stickers require a lot of finnicky and detailed artwork. 2. In general, skins are waaaaay more interesting than stickers. 3. If your sticker is included in a sticker capsule, you will probably earn far less than if your skin was included in a weapon crate. Just sayin'. Quote
FMPONE Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 It's so funny, when the weapons workshop started out, I was like "well, this is kind of silly...", but now my mind absolutely boggles at the quality of what people are up to. El Moroes Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Congrats guys. That's clearly cool for you and your work but I agree with 3Dnj...this pack adds nothing new and it's sad for the guys who worked a lot with the hope to see their map included in a new pack, in this one. I finaly took this one (for you guys ) but for this I clearly hesitated to buy it. Quote

You guys think Katowice will bring new cases/skins? I hope so. Quote

If you like small'ish map, fast rounds and plenty of action, i think you could like Isku also. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=198146855 Quote
Hashtag Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 I think this kind of map packs are always nice even if maps are not new or if they don't suit to everyone. This kind of initiative are uncommon in the video game industry. Moreover Valve has never promised anything about the content of this pack, so I think it's difficult to criticize their choice. Just my 2 cents. OrnateBaboon 1 Quote
