Well just bought something to be able to check my old HDD and I have all my project since 2009, even small stupid tests when I staterd to learn source, but Ruins is the one and only missing :(

You can decompile the workshop version. As you're probably going to replace most of the stuff, shouldn't be that much of an issue?

I had to decompile koth_brazil when volvo wanted to add it in the jungle update, broken HD, no choice, nobody saw anything :elrey:

You'll have to reconstruct the displacements maybe, somme issues with the skip textures aswell I think.

I was poking around with a decompiled version of de_subzero when I stumbled on this func_button entity that I thought was kind of amusing. It's located on the snowmobile near bombsite B:

(For Google purposes, the sound names are 69420alldayeverydayBigBallerBrand1 and 69420alldayeverydayBigBallerBrand2)

Just something I thought I could share in light of LiAngelo Ball getting waived today.

people should be supported to make great original works and not derivatives/gimmicky things. thats what mapcore exists for.

Sharing the source doesn’t mean that people should copy stuff, but it should be a way to learn how to achieve certain things.

I’ve been following the Quake community and I understand it’s the norm to release the source file.

Ofc the problem with CSGO and any modern game is that it’s much more taxing. Sharing requires much more physical space, the workshop doesn’t support releasing this etc.

If you use references from the real world means your maps visuals are maybe new to the game (e.g. cs:go) but not original. Most people here do that. And if your layout is based on the stardard layout pattern it is also not original. Most here do that too.

So like... Original in csgo universe?

My work is original. I do not use any inspiration or reference material.

That is not something to be proud of imho.

god you are awful -either a troll or so far up yourself you'll never see the light of day again. by your logic there's never been an original work in any game - everything comes from somewhere, be it real life or a derivative of another artform.

'let me send you the dictionary definition of original'
yes I'm being toxic, I didn't start it though! I'm just very done with how you act here.

you are VERY clueless and VERY opinionated. you won't improve unless you understand why people use references. it's not to copy, it's ground their levels in a believable locale.

it's probably not worth even trying to explain stuff to you. you don't listen, you've never listened.
