I just watched it! What a BEAUTIFUL movie! I mean it!

Reasons:

* Fuck!

* It's amazing

* fabulous

* perfect (!)

* really well edited

* well informative

* inspiring

* it shows all that pressure, love and passion from some indie game devs:

~> Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes (Team Meat), from Super Meat Boy.

~> Phil Fish, from Fez.

~> Jonathan Blow, from Braid.

There are extras with interviews of the Canabalt creator, Adam Saltsman, as also of the Aquaria creator, Alec Holowka.

I can't believe that I missed the chance to back it.

Make yourself a favor, and watch it.

I hope they release a edited-down version with only the Team Meat stuff. Although I guess I can just use the fast-forward button during the other parts.

Why is that? ;P

Should be called "Indie Game: It'll ruin your fucking life, then maybe, just maybe, make you a millionaire"

Yeah. That's insane!

I'd heard a few criticisms about the narrow scope of the movie, but was still pleased with it. A large part of the indie scene is more casual / hobbyist, and the film doesn't cover that, though I think the bonus features do.

Make sure to check out the Team Meat commentary too! It's ridiculous.

Oh, I saw this when they did that in theaters live broadcast. I really liked the movie, but yea it ends up feeling a little narrow in scope especially when you know (or at least I did) that all of the games featured are rather large successes as far as indie games go. Otherwise it was mostly a fun kind of 'people watching' movie, I enjoyed getting to know the developers a little bit and hear what they had to say about things as they went along. Will probably buy a copy to keep around some time.

None of the devs featured in the main film need any exposition, it's a pretty decent insight into their mental state leading up to release rather than how the games are actually made.

It's pretty good though it will probably scare a lot of people away from indie development (and encourage a few crazy folk with the right attitudes)

Yea, like the others said it is some very serious stuff, I imagine it would be borderline depressing if the prospect of what they're doing doesn't inspire you at all. :XD:

I really would recommend it though, it's real cheap on steam, or if you buy the full deal from their site you can get tons of extra footage which is neat.
