D3ads Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Why don't people get that linking to 4chan DOES NOT WORK! How many times have we been through this now... Quote
insta Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 A game about form posters training other forum posters in etiquette (net-iquette??)...sort of like a cross between Black&White and Tamagotchi, but in a persistent player-created world... Quote

syver Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Exploration/horror game with a scandinavian foklore-theme. Set during the christianization of (fictionalized) scandinavia with the nature "revolting" against it (religion is not the theme, just the premise). Environments like these: forest, shores, swamp, fog, river, landscape, moonlight, colorsm sunrise and more forest. humanoids&creatures you would meet: draug, troll, nixie, huge troll, another one. as for music, i find incredibly well made and creative. it conveys the atmosphere perfectly. why: scandinavian nature (and the folklore) is oppressive, gloomy, harsh, dangerous and beautiful and I think these qualities would empower a exploration/horror-based game. there are also other themes in the folklore that translates well to this kind of gameplay, such as unconventional thinking and exploration. Sentura Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 i actually think that's a brilliant idea csyver. i can only think of one game that did scandinavian folklore and it owned. there would need to be more creatures than the ones you mentioned, but it could easily be pulled off, as there a pretty large pool of creature to take from. i'm also kinda sad that there hasn't been anything about finnish folklore/mythology. vainamonen is one of the coolest mofos in mythology! Skjalg Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 I guess you can say that Wrath of the lich king had some influences from viking/nordic folklore, and then theres Too Human, that hack and slash game that took 11 years to create or something... Quote
insta Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 There was also that old viking game based on the unreal engine, where you beat people with a sword in third person. Can't remember the name though Quote
Vilham Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 Viking: Battle for Asgard? I would love a next gen Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance. The first 2 were great coop experiences. Played it shit loads with my brother. Quote
insta Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 No, not Viking: Battle for Asgard, although that counts as well! I found the game I meant, it was called Rune. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rune_%28video_game%29 Quote
Evert Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 Rune is awesome the first hour (also MP was great), I want a GOOD sequel of that Quote
